That's great: One thing that really bugs me is not having something work on a car.

Sort of ironic I got my car back with its restored AC right in time for winter!  :whiteflag:
Job isn't completely done, my dash pad is out, and I need to send it out to get restored.  I sure hope its back by spring!
I'm really thankful this Thanksgiving day to have my car back and far along toward completion on my "refresh" project.  Getting this work done has been on my to-do list for a while!
My 'vert is my favorite car to enjoy driving, and with its problems my use of it has been restricted for many years.  Next year I hope to drive it without worry to shows and cruises an hour or more away like I used to.  And I plan to have it at MCACN in 2018.  I love convertibles!!!!!!!!!!!!   :cooldance:

Looks good, hopefully it feels even better.... I think Dave has pads available for exchange...  Verts are fun...

After some delays I finally got my dash pad back around 3 weeks ago.  The dash got installed, the AC charged up, and the car was back to me before Memorial Day weekend.  I've had it to 5 cruises in the last 2 weeks!
I'm happy with my pad but not 100% satisfied.  There is a small dip on the front edge by the right side defroster duct. You don't really see it from outside the car, but from the inside, if you look close you can see it.
Coincidentally the pad from Ultimate Rides on my T/A has a similar flaw at that location.
As is the case with Just Dashes, it is a bit puffy.  The guy I've had working on the AC and odds and ends said it was a bear installing the dash because the 2 bolts accessible from the defroster ducts.
But all in all, I am glad to have it done, and the car back just in time for our cruising season!  I still have a couple odds and ends to do.  The tape pinstripes need to be removed and correctly painted on.  I have someone to do that and he is pretty buried, but hopefully in the next month that will be done.
I won't feel comfortable at highway speeds until I do something about tires.  The Eagle STs are probably 25 years old!  I am waiting to see if the rumored Kelsey radial version of F70x14 Polyglas repros is released soon. :fingerscrossed:

Over the weekend I changed the steering wheel out.  I had mixed emotions about doing that.  Over 15 years ago, I was looking for someone to restore the steering wheel for my T/A project.  I saw an ad in Hemmings for a guy in the town I worked in, and his price was good, so I gave him the wheel.  Well, it came out looking nice but totally wrong color and grain pattern.  So I took the wheel out of the convertible and installed the one I had done, figuring I'd find someone else to hopefully get it right.  Even though the wheel looked wrong, it was sort of cool looking, and I've had it in the car for years, and grew sort of attached to it.
I had the other one restored by Special Ts and it looked pretty good.  I put it in the T/A.
Back in the day I found a steering wheel on ebay restored by the late Jerome Verbit(sp?).  I put in a bid and won it, but thought it looked too dark after I got it.
Though recently I saw a thread with a picture of an NOS one, and it looked sort of dark too.
So I decided to install it on my T/A, the restored one I'd had on the T/A on the vert, and the wrong finish one is now retired.
Here is the Jerome Verbit one next to a core I have that I think (?) is original finish.
