Thought it might be a cool post to see what others have found to do online to pass the time in             " isolation" or quarantine ......

Failing this I'll be working on the Javelin as soon as it warms up some more.  :D

Nice idea for a thread.   I'm hitting the "new unread" link a lot lately.

Nothing to share from here yet.  My wife is "forcing" me to taste test cupcake recipes.   Yum.

Going to paint a couple rooms. God I hate painting, hope this is over soon.

RUNCHARGER

Cars are serviced for the year but I think I'll take this dead time to flush the brake and cooling systems as well. Then it's time to pack up the shop stuff in preparation for our move in a month. Hopefully our Real estate deals aren't cancelled or prolonged by our fearless government in their quest for total control.

I laughed at that one! I'm right there with ya. I hate painting too. Its one of the very few jobs I refuse to do.

I fired up the Charger for the first time this year and went for a spin. Next time I'll take the Challenger.

After finishing the RT and selling it off, I had been taking a break before starting my other 70 Challenger. I repaired all front end rust repairs a while back but the rear end of the car was a disaster.

Yesterday, I finally got in there and finished welding in a rear foot well floor pan and started mocking up rear frame rail placement. I have hundreds of hours of work ahead but it was kinda nice to finally do some work on the car.

Originally, the car was a numbers matching N code JH23N0B four speed car in burnt orange in and out. I go back and forth on things like color every week but lately, here is my vision:

US Car Tools full frame stiffening kit along with upgraded upper control arms, boxed in lower control arms and K frame, upgraded shocks and sway bars, front wilwoods but rear drums. Borgeson steering box. Not sure on wheels yet. Maybe one set of something wide and low profile for handling but another set of polyglas for shows?

I already rebuilt the original 383 but warmed it up. I want a nice EFI set up. I'm on the waiting list for a Passon five speed but I'll hold onto the original four speed. I want to add a hydraulic clutch too. The car has no power steering or brakes so both will be added along with AC. Mufflers will be quiet so no one takes notice of it.

I know a lot of you will puke reading this but I really am leaning towards F8 dark metallic green. I like it and it will work well with the overall sleeper look. I am keeping the flat hood and exhaust turn downs without valance cut outs. No stripes or wing or hood pins. Black vinyl top, maybe a gator grain? Lots of chrome and polished stainless trim.

On the inside, standard gauges but perhaps redo them adding an oil pressure gauge and replace ammeter with volt meter. Black interior but add green houndstooth cloth inserts. On the four speed console, I don't like the wood grain but Detroit offers the decal in black leather appearance. Not sure how it looks. I have an upholstery guy who can redo my dash in leather or vinyl and door panels too. Not sure on this but I saw some other cars he did and it was absolutely killer. I want layers of sound deadening inside so its like a new Mercedes.

I considered seats from a newer car but can't find anything that's low enough in front. It needs to give a little more knee room under the steering wheel. Plus I don't want the front seat style to badly mismatch the back. If I find the right buckets, I want adjustability. If not, I'll make do with the originals and modify the catch at the back so I can lean back one or two more degrees.

Here's a couple pics I found on the Internet to keep me inspired.

Something I've done usually late at night when I can't sleep is watch youtube music videos.
I guess we've all clicked on one of the suggested ..then the next & so on till you don't even remember where you started ..  Discover/rediscover all kinds of interesting music.
Like how do you start with Kenny Rogers & end up with this a dozen songs later? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1e_xK35C1Yg

Just watched the Movie Six Pack with Kenny Rogers. I have never seen it before. It was ok considering it was the early 80's.

Hanging out with my three young kids.  Homeschooling my 9 year old son with Autism.

Making lists of stuff I am should get done which then turns into a longer list which then overwhelms me so I dont even try.    :bradsthumb:

I havent read much since having kids, thinking of reading a book.

I pulled the arduous task of annual maintenance on two John Deere machines. A diesel gator and a 36hp tractor/loader. Oil changes and coolant flush/fill. Both Yanmar 3 cylinder diesels, both built for tiny Japanese hands it seems. Took the whole day. What sucked was having to look at the R/T project while trying to stay focused. However, it kept my mind off of current events. For a while.

I watched Justified when it originally aired years ago but now I'm re-watching it all over again in the middle of the night when I can't sleep.

Replacing my solid rear window on the Dakota with a slider.  What a PIA to get that out.   :haha:

Replaced the rack and pinion on the Dakota.

Working on finishing up the smaller things on the Challenger.
