The final modern Challenger was built yesterday.  A black Demon 170.   The end of a great era.  :crying:

Are they keeping the plant going or are they trying to weasel out of that too? Moving production to third world countries is their future plan I imagine.

From what I read it was the last DEMON  not the last Challenger?  :notsure:

Nice video of the line.  It was a good run of a 2nd muscle era.  Now we head into another malaise era with powers to be trying to push us into EVs few consumers find practical.

As much as I'd like to be wrong, it looks as if production of the Challenger, Charger, and 300 are done for good.  The Brampton plant is to be retooled in 2024/25 for the Jeep Compass.  The new Charger Daytona Banshee (or what ever it's called) is expected in dealers Q1 2025.  It will be made in Windsor, ON.  Some quotes from this article follow.  https://www.autoevolution.com/news/the-final-dodge-challenger-has-been-produced-brampton-production-facility-to-be-retooled-226550.html

"Under the Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, Brampton will be closed for the entirety of 2024 and much of 2025 to be retooled. Production will resume in the fourth quarter of 2025. Brampton will be modernized for the STLA Medium platform, which supports ICE and electric powertrains.  As per Unifor's agreements with Stellantis, the Brampton plant will gear up for the next-generation Jeep Compass."

"The Windsor assembly plant, on the other hand, will make the all-new Charger on the STLA Large platform. Speaking of which, the Charger has been confirmed to come back in the latter half of 2024 for the 2025 model year, with deliveries most likely starting in the first quarter of 2025."

"It's not known whether the Challenger will ever come back."

If anyone out there is wanting a modern Challenger, this is a good search tool.  https://www.dodge.com/new-inventory.challenger.html?modelYearCode=IUD202303&radius=25  There's about 25,000 of them in the US and dealers + Dodge are finally offering discounts.  Ask me how I know....  :takemymoney:

Camaro is done too.  https://gmauthority.com/blog/2023/12/the-last-chevy-camaro-has-been-built/

"In what is perhaps a rather sad milestone for muscle car fans, the final Chevy Camaro unit rolled off the assembly line on December 14th, 2023 as scheduled, marking the permanent sunsetting of the Camaro's sixth generation."

"The final units of the 2024 Chevy Camaro Convertible were produced on November 22nd as originally scheduled, but the Coupe missed its planned December 7th deadline and ended production this week instead."
