  Signed the petition; I have a 2007 Hemi powered Grand Cherokee and do all the regular maintenance; this problem is  similar to the problem the ford focus with the single overhead cam has; they all drop the valve retainer over the number 4 piston and destroy the piston and head in the process. That happened to me in my Focus commuter on my way home from work; it was driving fine until I got to a red light and then the engine started making an awful noise running rough until it died. Once I got the car home and took the engine apart I found the bottom of the head all chewed up and the top of the number 4 piston chewed up by the retainer that let go. Had to rebuild the engine and replace the head with a reconditioned head with better retainers.
