I made a couple customers happy today,a simple fix which I covered with a no charge which was my fault and covered it.This couple brought their 2005 Chevy Suburban in for transmission issues, slipping and I rebuilt it.Came back today not shifting right and check engine light was on for a shift solenoid.Did the checks and it was my fault during the rebuild.A plug in for one of the solenoids came out,I thought it was all the way in and never checked it a second time which I always do.Was not in all the way not hearing the click noise.Put it back together making sure that plug in was in all the way this time, shifted right.Looked at them telling them no charge explaining it was my fault during the rebuild. They were glad I admitted to the mistake and stood behind my work. Both were glad it was a simple fix. They are first time customers and coming back.I learned from a good transmission rebuilder I worked for when I started out to stand behind my work and no one is perfect admitting what I did wrong.

I applaud you. There are way too many businesses these days that won't stand behind what they are selling wether that is a car repair or food at a restaurant. Way to go!   :perfect10:

You are correct , no one is perfect & you handled it the right way & the same way I would handle it .
You will have a great business forever as long as you continue like that  :bigthumb:

Yup: Stuff happens, own it, fix it, move on. That's how respect and reputation are built.

:bravo: That is how it should be. A repair or body shop that clam to have no comeback's is ether a new business or full of it. The best of us can only keep it to a minimum.  Well done.

It's nice when you have an understanding customer as well. Someone who understands that things can go wrong or that simple mistakes can happen.
When they come back to you and say, "hey, this is wrong, how can we fix it" and allow you the opportunity to correct the problem.

In this world these days, there's too many people with the "you didn't do it right the first time, why should I let you fix it" attitude, and they proceed to take the problem elsewhere to get fixed and try their best to publicly shame you and drag your name through the mud.

Sounds like your family business has a great track record of success and with your Father retiring and you taking over, I see nothing but great things in your future.  I'm sure this latest customer will be one for life. :grouphug:

Nice to see that integrity still exists in this sad, old world. Good on you, that was the right thing to do and, as mentioned, ethics like that will take you a long way.
