Dakota

Just to close out this thread, I parted company with the truck yesterday.   I sold it to CarMax for their wholesale price of $500.   It probably could've brought more money in through private sale, but it wouldn't have been a whole lot more and using CarMax avoided the hassle of advertising & showing the truck, then wondering about whether a buyer's check would clear.   I've owned the Ram for 17 years (the last 7 in an area known for snow and salt).  It has over 236k miles (the most of any vehicle I've owned), was burning a quart of oil every hundred miles, has a leaking power steering rack (2nd one) along with rust popping out almost everywhere.  Lastly, 2WD makes for tough going in the winters here.  It was time to go.

I got a good deal on a '08 4WD V6 Dakota (where have I seen that name before?) so I can keep on truckin'.

Dakotas are good solid trucks. my '02 with a 5.9 and 265k miles is still running strong. had the typical Magnum cracked heads a few years back to replace, but other than that and replacing the front diff last year it's been a good truck. we can never keep them on the lot for long (we have a 2011 now going through inspection and I already have 3 potential buyers, one from rusty Michigan that is tired of rusted out older trucks, lol)
Growing older is mandatory...growing up is optional.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
