Same thing happened to my Ram 1500. Mine they took the fiberglass cap off and the wheels before burning it. Found same place.

Don't tell me Murray, not Steve's Towing in Ohsweken by any chance? Our noble red brothers have a regular thing going on there and I've been out to look at stolen vehicles dozens of times there. One thing to remember about new cars, is that there's a rev limiter and you can't easily blow one up. I worked for an insurance company and we did not routinely total a vehicle on "spec". We'd take it to the dealer and have a thorough safety done on it and if it was repairable, we did just that. We also backed up any factory warranty to the same figures so that the insured did not suffer any loss of coverage in that regard. With computer control of transmissions, it's possible to check to see if it's still within parameters- or not. The real question here, is how did they get it? Not easy in this day and age compared to the old Chevy trick of bashing out the left side of the column. I'd also like to see someone actually caught for this stuff, but the cops couldn't care less. "Call your insurance company" is their go to refrain.
In the immortal words of Jimmy Scott- "pace yourself!"

Its trash now. Let them total it and take the money for a new one.............or have the insurance find a used one like it.
