I came along right when records were starting to depart most stores but the dad of the girl I dated all through highschool had been a DJ for a fairly large radio station during the 60s and 70s and had this massive collection I was always admiring when I'd come over. He actually was a really uptight guy. Anyway, one day I come over and my gf is all upset and her mom is livid about something. I ask if there was anything I could do to help and she told me no but I should probably take her daughter and leave for awhile. She gave us 20 bucks and then when we went to go out to my car she called me to come back inside and said she could use my help moving a few things. I said sure and then she led me to her husband's office where all his albums were in huge boxes. I stood dumbfounded but asked where to? She told me to my house. I was went to protest and she told me they were going to the dump if not. I loaded it all in my car and went straight home. I never saw or heard from her dad again. Her mom caught him in bed with another woman and kicked him out. He never came back. I still have all the albums which have tons of first pressings and some rare stuff like the Beatles yesterday and today infamous butcher album cover.  :)

I have a collection of about 400 albums, and an additional count of maybe 300 45's. I still have my 1978 Technics direct drive turntable. I sprung for direct drive just so I would never have to replace a belt.

I haven't bought an album since the early 90's, but they are making a come back.

When I sold my last house I relocated over 100 concert ticket stubs to my storage.... Almost tossed them but they don't take up much space & it's cool to look through them & reminisce....

And yeah close to 200 albums, twenty plus are Half Speed Masters...

I have most all of my collection from the 70's.  I unfortunately sold some when I replaced them with compact discs, oops!  I have saved a few records from going to the landfill and picked some up at garage sales.  I have a ton of 45's too.  I thought my cassette died. I hadn't used it in a long time.  Tried it and it would go a few feet and then quit.  I let it sit a long time again.  I recently ran across some tapes that I wanted to listen to and tried it.  It would go a few feet and then stop.  I just kept pushing play.  It would stop and I pushed play.  I guess it finally got the idea because it seems to work fine now.  Now if we can just get that 8-Track in the old 'cuda going again...

I still have the stub to the first concert I ever went to. It was in the summer of '76. Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Boz Skaggs opened for them. It cost me $9.75.
