So I get a message and picture from my daugther. I thought she was joking but she wasnt.  Unless you own or drove a classic you might not know what it is. I told her what it was and she said did you push it with your foot?  :bradsthumb:

Too funny, I though you might get the same from a gear shift from the young'uns.

We didn't have those in the UK.  Wasn't it a dimmer switch for the headlamps?

Pretty soon kids won't know you had to put a "key" in the ignition....all the new cars are push button start nowadays....no such thing as "honey where are my car keys"  :haha:

....even our house has a code to get in, no more house key even...
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

I bought my Challenger six years ago. The first time I was out at night I pulled on the turn signal switch to get the high beams. I had to laugh at myself for that.

I'd like to know what some of the guesses were.

I've got a friend who has been into Mopars for a long time.  He just recently picked up a 71 Dart.  He had never seen a manual washer foot pump before.  He had no idea what it was at first.

I've never seen one either.
You might have one on your car. My '73 did.

It's kind of funny how times has changed. Back in early 60's there was this one guy that would come to my uncle's house to have work done. His horn would start blowing. Even back then it was his car phone. And now look where we are today.

I had a 20-something ask what is that, I told him an oil spout from when you bought engine oil, it was in a metal can!

Then further back there is always the floor mounted starter button.

I'm with you on this one.  I hate getting into a car today and realizing I don't know where that switch is in different cars.  :pullinghair:
