my 70 cuda 383 appears basically stock with shaker hood installed,  which covers MP 6bbl set up.
Below 440 crank machined to fit, increases displacement to 431 ci, with 390 HP & 490 TQ.

Always liked the it gets driven look.

My 440 CI / 4 barrels with a new air filter 3"  :inlove: (Very very fair compared to the underside of the hood (less than 1/2 inch).  :o

Much more efficient and pretty than the old one in 2 inches

I have a tight clearance to and unfortunately I ripped the engine mount  and damaged my hood so consider getting something to hold that engine down. :alan2cents:

@nsmall  Before installing the new air filter with its very low support. I took all the ribs with modeling clay. After installing the new filter, I did the same thing again. The only place a fair bit (1/2 ") is the middle of the air filter.It holds with a screwed part on the threaded rod which is screwed on the carburetor HOLLEY
