So it looks like Dodge has officially announced the Hemi is coming back to the ram truck for 2026. While I find that interesting, I think the new badge for it is even more interesting. This would be cool to put on an older truck build

MEK-Dangerous

I can't wrap my head around the 1500 model this year. It has a twin turbo engine that is only 3.0 liters.
How long will it last if you use the truck to pull a trailer and such? Will this little engine last for 100K or 200K miles?
It just seems like they put a grape in a vise and are trying to get all the juice out of it. I'm sure this was done for gas mileage concern, but I'm all for bringing back the Hemi.   :)

This might explain it .... Per Google

In Q1 2025, Ford F-Series sales (including F-150) increased by 26% to 183,202 units in the United States.

In the first quarter of 2025, Ram 1500 sales totaled 47,067 units. This figure represents a decrease of 11% compared to the previous year
  Ram 1500: Sales were down 11% year-over-year.
Ram Heavy Duty: Sales were up 18% year-over-year.

In the first quarter of 2025, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (Light Duty) saw sales of 78,199 units in the United States. This represents a decrease of 7.6% compared to the first quarter of 2024, according to GM Authority. The Silverado HD (Heavy Duty) saw sales of 47,099 units, a 12.4% increase over the same period in 2024

   Googled 2019 Sales of Pickups
In 2019, full-size pickup truck sales in the US were as follows: Ford F-150 led with 580,000 units sold, followed by the Chevy Silverado with 395,000 units, and the Ram Pickup with 426,000 units. The GMC Sierra had 162,000 sales

My 2017 5.7 1500 rarely averages less than 18-city with up to 21 if I just get on the highway for an hour every couple of weeks so I wouldn't anticipate any MPG improvement.
     Again per Google...
The 2025 Ram 1500 with the 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-6 engine offers EPA-estimated fuel economy of 18/25 MPG (city/highway) with 2WD and 19/24 MPG with 4WD. The high-output version of the Hurricane engine, available with 4WD only, is rated at 15/21 MPG (city/highway)

I wonder if they're going to throw in a couple extra camshafts, sets of lifters and pairs of exhaust manifolds if you buy one? They've had 20 years to fix the problems and haven't yet.

My son who just finished his apprenticeship  for a mechanic  sent me this the other day. 5.7 timing chain failure...... Not many miles, just out of warrantee period..... :o

I thought it was interesting how the engine comes out just like the originals!

Bullitt-

Main thing I hear about is lifter failure... seems to happen to 5% with over 100K

My 2010 RT had lifter failure at 109k and took out my cam, I used it as an opportunity to upgrade to the 392 cam and SRT headers with a full Dyno tune. It ended up getting about 460 crank horsepower

Here's an interesting read about a 2011 MDS 5.7 that lost it's timing chain tensioner at 66k then at 235k was torn down after a head gasket failure.
Good news was the tensioner, lifters & cam were in good shape

Think I'll be upgrading my oil choice after stuff I've read tonight
