Cool thanks for sharing. Always wanted the utility of a Ram but avoided it due to mileage for a daily driver. E-Ram would be great.
Kind of hoping they have some e-concepts at Carlisle this year.
Awesome would be a thrill ride in an e-Charger but doubt that one yet.

Well, if you need a truck to haul or carry stuff, the current capabilities of e-trucks is very lacking. If you just want to drive it like a car and run around town, usually empty, it can do that.
Read an article somewhere in the last few days where someone was testing the range of an F150 Lightning pulling an 8000# trailer. (my trailer is 11000#). Once the trailer was added the truck reported a range of 160miles - down from 300 empty. After driving for a mile it was down to 150 miles. A few after that the estimate changed to 62 miles. They turned around as they could not make it to a charging station if they kept going. Where I go camping there are no gas stations let alone charging stations. I can carry extra fuel. With an e-truck you don't have the option of carrying an extra battery pack even if you could afford it. So for me, that 62 miles needs to be cut in half so I can get back. Whooo hooo...a range of 31 miles.
I'm looking for an EV for a daily, but the trucks are just way too far away from useful to even consider yet.

Except for the dashboard I like the styling of it and love the versatility with folding seats and cab back but my concerns - price, range both unloaded and loaded with trailer? I got over 25 mpg with my `17 1500 5.7 8 speed on a long trip, my `18 2500 6.4 6 speed doesn`t get near as good mileage but can tow 10k#.

Cool video.  I've worked with La Shirl and Chris Benjamin on a number of interior projects over the years.

I read, what they don't seem to tell you,, everything you use radio computer headlights especially heater drain your battery how far Will you be able to go in the winter

I don't have any issue with EVs as long as its the market (consumers) that decide, preferably without .gov intervention.  I'd do an EV for commuting, but I still want a real truck, thanks.

Hope not.

And OBTW how much will the monthly/periodic subscription fees be for the extra payload, or extra torque for towing, activating the full capabilities of the sound system or custom "exhaust" tones?

Buy the truck, own ALL the truck and get to use ALL the truck you paid for.

Battery technology definitely needs to progress from here but I know there are several technologies not far off in the future. Sadly the F150 Lightning I believe was brought to market much too fast. This can leave a black eye when you want to compete in that space.

Yes radio, lights, heater and now heat pumps (cold weather) will draw from your overall mileage. But there are ways to minimize this. On several cars your seat warmer, steering wheel warmer are actually more efficient than the straight heater and provide for longer trips.

And as battery tech improves, and hopefully costs come down, and (hopefully private, not government) chargers become more available, the market (and the consumers) will naturally start choosing EV over gas/diesel.  Also once safety improvements in EV's catch up and accident response for them is really standardized and optimized.

Once the capabilities are more closely matched and pricing is closer, I could see getting an EV commuter, and possibly an EV light truck.  I am not anti-EV.  I'm anti EV shoved down my throat and government trying to force it and spending treasure to pick the winners and losers (like .gov putting in all the charging stations while EPA makes it harder to put in or maintain gas stations).  And concerned about the built in tracking that seems to be endemic on EVs (and becoming more common on fuel vehicles also).

I am not anti EV either but my only daily driver is my `18 Ram 2500. I love it but gas mileage sucks so if I could replace it with an EV truck for not much more money and have the same load/towing capacity and the same range I would consider it. EVs are getting better but I think we are still a ways off from them competing with gas vehicles for price/performance etc.

I run a Tow truck, When the county 911 dispatcher calls and that truck rolls, it could be a simple quick call, Or it could be something a hundred feet off the road, it could be upside down. some wrecks I have been at the scene for an hour. I have been at some that were four hours or more. I can,t see that working out vary well.  :headbang:   :alan2cents:

Have you been at a wreck yet where someone has to be cut out of an EV with the jaws of life?

@cuda hunter  No not yet, There is only one of those things in the area that I know of. I plan on asking the local fire department on when the next jaws class comes up.   :alan2cents:

Why would it matter? There are no main power wires near the doors or roof? :dunno:
