Sad Death of Actor Michael Cole of Mod Squad

Michael Cole passed, best remembered for his Mod Squad role as Pete Cochan and the very well known 1970 Challenger RT convertible (among other Challengers) he rode in the show

The sister car is known. It had the plate number 113 AEG.

It came to Spring Fling for years. And now has it's red interior put back in.

JS23U No serial number or tag but;
Some interesting notes on the Mod Squad Challengers; there are two known red RT Challengers verts w 383 Magnums in FE5 red with red interiors, both Q code executive lease cars. In the show they carried license plates California 112 AEG & 113 AEG. They were real California Registration plates. I have notes from an owner that did not know he had bought one of the Mod Squad convertibles. He had bought the car 1977-78 from a private party and eventually sold her in 2016.Some of the owner's notes;

"It was a "real" JS27N0B 383 magnum R/T convertible.FE5 red with black longitudinal R/T stripes 383 Magnum callouts on the hood, but no hood blackout Full "Challenger" raised center wheel covers A/C, P/S, P/B (front disks), power windows, CLEAR GLASS (so less camera distortion)
Deluxe seat belts Red interior, and a COLUMN SHIFT (so actors can slide across easily)
AM/8-track radio with 3-speaker dash" M63 "belt mouldings", this WAS an early build car. It had the rear argent panel, chrome on the front valence, back of the hood, along the top of the doors, and around the convertible boot. I received the car in mostly stock trim (albeit very tired and with an interior infected with Leprosy). The hood had already been bashed and replaced with a "safe" one (larger hinge bolts + crumple zones). The D O D G E and 383 Magnum callouts were never remounted. A chrome gas cap got on there too.

When purchased the red interior was switched out for black.
I will post a pick of the car when it was purchased. This is the information I currently have.

That's Steve V. 68HemiB that I linked to on the moparts.com thread.

Just a sidebar, there was also a FJ5 V code Challenger convertible that appeared in Mod Squad. It's for sale next month at Mecum.
It has records showing its original owner was the studio.  It apparently only appeared in one episode so you have to wonder why they'd bought a car like that and only use it for a side role once.
There was a '70 Challenger convertible that was featured in an episode of Adam 12.  I thought it was red on red, but the old faded images I found have it looking like it could be red with red interior, burnt orange with burnt orange interior or even orange with burnt orange interior. Oddly they put tape over that cars emblems for some reason.
If it's color was red with red, that makes one wonder if it was the same car from mod squad.  As I recall, in that episode some hot girls would hitchhike, then carjack the car after someone picked them up, and take it to a chop shop. The convertible is one of the cars that got stolen.  Reed and Malloy got on the case and busted everyone before the Challenger got stripped thankfully!

That FJ5 six pack conv was another local car. Used to see it around San Fernando Valley at events sporadically.  Was bought a 2-3 years ago. Saw the seller and new owner at Spring Fling.

Thanks, guys. Interesting lecture. From the moparts thread the ADAM 12 car looks very similar and could be one of the Mod Squad cars. The differences seem to be Magnums vs. full wheel covers. The 1971 JH27H movie cars (gold ones for Mod Squad, GB5 with white for several movies or TV-series) were used in several productions. Why not the red 1970 ones as well? Would make sense to me.
@6bblgt : Dan, you once wrote down the fender tag info of such a car, but weren't sure if it was one the two Mod Squad cars. Could you ever clarify this?
