I need your opinions on what color is the most recognized for a 70-74 Barracuda/Cuda/AAR. And what color(s) are least eye catching. I found a clean barn find 318 car for a restomod project. What color do you all think it should be painted?

1970 cuda Joe

Only you will know that answer when you get that far. Colour is a reflection of yourself & how the car will be built....Joe

FM3
EK2
GY3
EV2

Seems those pop the most in that order.
However, that gy3 can really pop depending upon the paint itself.

Since you are going resto-mod I would (did) choose a "modern Mopar" color, they are generally much more eye-catching. I went with a 2010 Deep Water Blue and love it.

I've had most of them: In order of most noticeable. The FM3 is pretty awesome and I had it for 18 years, done that, won't get another one.

Mr Cuda

You asked 2 questions, one backwards.

Winchester Grey is the one color that flips the switch for me on a Cuda
Lighting & probably different mix shows very differently

I would stick with a factory high impact colour...
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

For me, it's FC7! Deep, rich color.

The first Cuda I  remember seeing was all Black  4 speed with fat tires. A sweet agressive ride. I have always been a Hemi Orange and Plum Crazy fan. But I got my Challenger in Top Banana. It pops with the black tires and vinyl top. I  would imagine a block hood and yellow top would also be pretty cool. Not sure if the AAR's came in the color scheme.

You asked three different questions - most striking, most recognized, what should you paint it. Are you asking for resale value or just to be noticed driving or at shows? Right now FM3 is hot and getting big $$, FJ5/6, FC7, EV2 are always popular, some like GY3 as well.

IMHO any of the factory colors. What code was it born with?

There are so many different ways to play the color choice - wheel choice, graphics / stripes etc.  I am just a car nut in general, and if the care is done well, where everything flows and ties together so the overall appearance is purposeful, I don't think it matters much other than what you love.

Opinions are like buttholes - everyone has one and they all stink....... :D

If you are talking about resale value I agree the high impact colors are a safe bet, if it is for your personal enjoyment it won't matter much, even on resale unless you go with something really off the wall/ :alan2cents:

Sublime is the most over done color.  90% of the project cars for sale are that color for some reason.

Mr Cuda

My car that didn't stay a factory color, went black
Nothing is more awesome than  a black Cuda.
I think some cars need to stay original, others, have at it.
OP never tipped his hat as to his choice. So we are just duking it out among ourselves
