Early fall is pretty much the wrapping up of the car season in my area.  I was looking forward to this weekend, as the last one for 2019 of the last area cruise that hadn't ended already was supposed to be Saturday evening.  And today is a good sized (300-400 car) well organized show at the Medinah temple which is about 20 minutes away.
So we get a cold gray rainy drizzly weekend and everything got canceled. 
The season's start set the tone for the year.  A WPC sponsored all makes show at a local CJDR dealer lot that is usually the 3rd Sunday of April, but got moved to the last Sunday this year because of Easter got snowed out!  Weather on Easter was perfect...
And between then and now it seemed more events got rained out or low attendance due to sketchy forecasts than not.
One Saturday evening I drove to a cruise after checking weather and radar, and seeing nothing for 100s of miles, and then an hour after I got there it rained and soaked my convertibles interior before I could get back over to it and put the top and windows up.  Watching the news later, a unforecast convergence of cool air off Lake Michigan hit the humid air in the region and caused a 5 mile wide area of rain to form out of nowhere.
What a bummer, we spend 6-7 fall and winter months waiting for spring so we can get our cars out, and to then have 75% of our events messed up by weather just ain't fair! 
I know spring had big rains and horrible flooding in a large part of the US, but hope car friendly weather wasn't as rare elsewhere this year as it was here?

This is why I moved to Panama . Where I was summer was more like 5-6 weeks , there was a big car show planneed for this weekend there but they are having a snowstorm with 1-2 feet of snow expected
I need more than a couple of weekends / year of good weather .

What's the car scene like in Panama?  I don't picture it a place with evening cruise ins and Sunday car shows happening all the time?
Last year we had a bad spring but starting Memorial Day weekend the rest of the season was pretty good. In recent years, maybe due to global warming, spring seems always cold and wet but Septembers and even Octobers have been great.  September started out nice here Labor Day weekend and also the following weekend.  But the last 2 weekends have been awful and next weekend is forecast to be cool.
I have got to get my car out more, it's going to be in MCACN, and fire codes require 1/4 tank or under, and iirc I have about 3/4 tank.  The way it's going the weather won't cooperate for any driving before then!

That is the downside , not much of a car scene here yet , I plan to start one with some help
There is a legit 1/4 mile & road course here tho & a lot of guys into fast machines !!

Yeah I feel your pain . . But still did make it to some cool shows!  Of course Carlisle is the cream of the crop, here in Michigan . . Frankenmuth auto fest was amazing!  A couple small town cruise ins . . And there is one more . . The Great Pumpkin Car Show here in town usually pulls in around 400 cars . . If the weather is completely positive, may get 500 this year.  Questionable weather . . 350 or so . . But it will be mid October in Michigan . . 2 years ago, complete rain out.  Then time to start packing up the toys and prepare for old man winter . . .

We had a very rainy spring here in the Northeast but since late June weather has been really nice and we still have maybe a month to go before it gets too cold. My problem was nothing to drive the last couple years due to issues with the Barracuda so when I go to shows it`s just as a spectator.  I need to get something running and driving for next season, just not sure which project gets priority yet for the winter.

It was a rough summer here. I only put about 2000 miles on the Viper, I pay over $200/mo for insurance and it ran out Thursday so you know it, nice weather this last weekend. Hopefully the house sells soon so I can leave this country.

Biggest reason we moved from PA to SC. PA weather is either cloudy and rain or cloudy and snow. Your car cruising weather may be a 6 week window and most of that will be rain. Here in SC you can cruise 12 months a year. July and August it gets pretty hot and humid so I usually kept the cars parked in those two months since neither had air conditioning.

We haven't had rain down here in close to two months. Everything is dry. And it's been hot. Mid 90s during the day. Every day. I'll take it over snow any day.

Same here. The last rain we got was from Hurricane Dorian. We may get some this weekend though.

It's been a pretty short car season here too, spring was cold and wet, "summer" seemed to be 6-8 weeks this year I think I only had the Challenger out half a dozen times this summer, mind you the biggest reason for that was working on the Javelin

Exactly why I moved from Calgary to Palm Springs.  Broke my heart when Spring and Fall were rained or snowed out many years.
