I hate throwing old Mopar magazines out.  What do you guys do with your old magazines?   :clueless:   And how long do you old on to them for?  I think I still have some from the early 90's?  I keep them next to my bed and read them at night, but it's getting a little crowded.

I have boxes and boxes of magazines going back to the 60's. They are fun to look at once in a while. I have three six foot by six foot roll out cabinets I store them in but even that isn't enough room.

I have them piled under my bed. I did go through them and toss a pile of them though.

I keep them with the cars, wife is happy that they're out of the house.  I hate to throw them away, even have some old Muscle Hustles, Chrysler Power, and Scat Packs.

Maybe the next generation will enjoy them?  :alan2cents:

All of my magazines are in plastic tubs stacked in the basement.  If the sump pump ever quits, they should still be safe in the plastic tubs.  I have everything sorted.  All of the Hot Rods are together, all of the Mopar Muscles are together exc...

I have NEVER thrown one out......I have a lot, most titles right back to the first issue. I have every issue of MCG for sure but stop buying the other titles years ago...
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

One of the rooms in the second floor of my shop is what I call a "clean room" with magazines, pics, reference materials etc...I have lighted magazine racks....It has magazines dating back to the early 80s...The mopar section of the racks have  titles have been out of print for years...Moperformance magazine...first run of Chrysler Power magazine, And even the  Mopar enthusiast magazine and it's short run from a few years ago...Mopar action from the 80s to this last issue printed under a new publisher....Loads of reference pics and info over the years as well as Chryslers @ Carlisle programs from the beginning, even Carlisle spring and fall programs from the mid 80s up....  Here's a pic of one section of mopar mags...

Thanks... :bigthumb: I was lucky enough to buy the racks from a local store that went out of business ...I could'nt pass them up...Before that they were in boxes not easily dealt with...It's interesting to see how the high profile cars changed so many hands over the years...

I like the concept,  I may have to look into locating one or spending a weekend and building one.

I was thinking of doing something like that as well. It would be an easy build, I was thinking dust would be a problem but just throwing a blanket or plastic over would take care of that.

Hey Sheldon...I buy the clear, heavy duty page sleeves at Staples...the magazines slip right in them...It's a tight fit but it keeps them dust free and intact on the shelves that way you can pick through them without the mags pages separating/bending every time you move them...In my case I don't get any dust in that room but it sure does help in the handling and scrolling through them quickly...EDIT:Here's a close up you can see the sleeve's binder holes on the sides of the magazines... :bigthumb:

Oh yeah! That's awesome. I have about 100 sleeved, last I counted I had over 2000 in total. (We're all sick!)

I'm so impressed with what Screamindriver did with his magazines.   :clapping:  I'm looking on Craigslist right now for some racks.

I gave few I had to my brother the Ford freak ... told him these were AP level magazines and if he needed understanding the content that I could walk him through the basics of real cars ...
