Had 8 conference calls to attend, 2 presentations to deliver, approvals to grant and tons of email to dig through. Pretty typical day for me- I lead two teams in HR for a large financial institution. Went for a 4+ mile run after work, took the recycling out and now, it's time to make taco's... after all, it's Tuesday!!  :veryexcited:  :drinkingbud:

I work for a large chemical manufacturer as a materials engineer for all of North American sites (Canada to Mexico)

Today I did some global support with our German group, prepared for a site assessment (conveniently located near Carlisle), trouble shooting in SAP for 4 different issues for 4 different sites, and bid a site materials evaluation.

When I came home, my painter came over to check out the Barracuda to bid the work. He says he may be ready in 3 weeks for it...

Now I'm on the couch cruising the forums

I am building a home.   6500 sq ft .   7K with the garage.

I had a meeting with the concrete company. a meeting with my excavator a phone conference with my custom cabinet company and dealt with material deliveries on my jobsite all day. 12.5 hour day.

squeeged snow off of the lower level floor this morning. squeeged snow off of the lower level floor this evening.   expecting a lot of snow tonight.

I'm the general but i am also the worker performing 75% of the work on the home with a few employees and my own hands.

All this and I got to see a small herd of Elk this morning, something like 100 mule deer a golden eagle a bald eagle and our first humming bird of the season.

Here are a few pictures from where I was a few months ago to where I am today.

What a view that the house you're building is going to have!!  :bradsthumb: Sounds like hard work @cuda hunter but, it must be incredibly rewarding to 'see' the results at the end of each day!

We always have room at the table & an extra plate for you @Chryco Psycho:yes:

Dealing with HR is a hot chair position.
Tons of pressure to get the right type of talent.

With unemployment so low out here, I see alot of turnover in those positions.
We're at a 4% unemployment out here with fierce competition for more talent.

What brand of ICF are you using for your walls? Saw a sticker on the wall but could not read it.
I am thinking of possibly using a system to do a garage here. Not to keep cold out , to keep heat out.

I built a house with Ytong block once in Fla.

Thats what I call a million dollar view. I get excited to see a hummingbird and maybe once in a year I see a Bald Eagle, but to see a herd of Elk, wow.  I  work with a staffing service for new hires, so far so good. I also hire walk-ins, that can be pretty tough. Just this week I hired a Navy Vet, always happy to help. Seems like everyone is pretty busy. But with my busy schedule always thinking about the weekend to get back to work on my Challenger.
Get in, I'll drive

I'm currently using Fox block for this home.  They have a foam window buck system that I can eliminate the thermal break that most other form systems have by using a wooden window buck.

I've used Nudura blocks exclusively for about 10 years.  This is my first switch out of nudura.  Before nudura I used Arxx blocks.  Fox blocks are made in Colorado Springs, Nebraska and Atlanta.  So American companies.  That makes me feel better about spending money with the block company.

I would suggest Fox block to anyone.  It works great.  I'm impressed.     I'm building 38' tall walls with the Fox.  They work great. icf is great for keeping your environment out.

Well I got all the "Chevy" out of my garage today. I traded a 383 Small block I've had for years for A/C installed in the house. Wife is happy!  I'm happy as I now have more room for Mopar projects!  :D

I will check out the Fox block.
Recently found an icf comparison sheet then mispaced again.
38' s a nice concrete wall.
I love working concrete, not so much flatwork, but columns walls, beams , overhangs etc.

One of the best views in my valley.  You can see 4 different mountain ranges from their home.  All sides.   It is extremely rewarding to see daily progress.  It's even more rewarding to sit in the finished house at the end and know that I created this home out of sticks on the ground.    A million piece puzzle.

I hate flatwork.  Did a little back in the beginning of my career.  I figured out different ways to break my back.

Just saying, Fox block blows away all the other competition.
