So I've recently installed a new servo, encoder & controller, The encoder reads a conveyor belt that stops & restarts.... The motor is supposed to match the conveyor.... But when the conveyor is stopped intermittently the motor creeps.... My first thought was electrical noise & that may still be the issue but the cables are shielded & the shielding is grounded, I also tried completely separating the cables with no change.... So I started thinking about the encoder as a possible source of the issue....Since the issue is random a flaw in the encoder would only show up when the damaged area aligned with the sensor.... Made sense to me but a new encoder didn't change a thing..... So currently I'm catching my head.... Any thoughts?  Thanks!

Oh, BTW if you reply & I don't respond please don't think I'm being rude, I'm about to board a flight....

Can you adjust the gain on the servo drive?

My first thought was electrical noise too.
BTW I have not worked on a servo drive in 15 years.
