Post by: three two barrels on February 16, 2020, 04:51:25 PM
So you think you want to do a HEMI car next, open up your wallet as far as it goes and place a bid.
Interesting story if true.
$45k, but price reduced.lol!

So lucky for serious investors to be given this opportunity.

I don't think I'm ever going to own a Hemi.  The pricing as of late is so disappointing.

The reality is you can build a 512 stroker for less than & a pair of Gen 2 hemi heads when you include all of the parts when you include valves, springs , retainers & locks , rocker arms , shafts , pedastels & pushrods !!

and the 512 is easier to keep tuned and will kick the snot out of that Hemi.
That's the plan pretty much.

Hemi's are harder to work on too.

Space is limited.

Once in engine compartment, everything seems to be difficult to get at.

I wonder if the GTX still exists.  would it be worth that kind money to the owner of this car to reunite the original engine back to it?  :dunno:

Only the owner would know I guess. All the little pieces really add up when restoring a Hemi correctly and if they're all there and correct it makes a big difference. You can't restore a Hemi to less than perfect condition these days either. It's one reason I passed up a 70 Hemi Challenger needing restoration a year ago. I knew it was impossible to restore it for anywhere near what I could buy one for. We love restoring these cars but it just makes sense to let someone else chase the parts down and pay the bodyshop bills.

Not to mention it's probably already .60 over and needed to be sleeved.

Seen this sad story over and over....

My block had to be bored out to .063 when I built it.

As Checkov would say..." that's all she's got, she can't take no more"
Sonic test came back I could go out that far.
