Title: Viper (Neon SRT) seats in an E-body
Post by: torredcuda on February 20, 2020, 10:22:00 AM
Anyone here have them in their car? I haven`t had a chance to really look at them yet, how easy/hard is it to adapt them to the factory seat tracks or did you use the Neon tracks and adapt them? I have a grinder and a welder and also work in a sheet metal shop so fabrication is no problem just wondering if anyone has done it already?

Are you talking about using the new ones or the sweet 90s neon?

Takes some digging but 70chall440 has a post on c-c.com that shows how he mounted the seats -

Those seats look nice.  Would they fold forward enough to allow someone to get in the back?

They go from almost straight upright to about 60 degrees recline, I obviously don`t need that much recline angle so when I take them apart I`ll look at modifying the mechanism so hopefully they will go further forward.

Any more details on the SRT seats being able to tilt forward?  I have a line on a set that will need some TLC on the covers but they are useless if they won't tilt forward enough to let a rear seat passenger in.

I just moved the car into my shop to start working on it again, I am going to work on getting the seat brackets modified to fit and tear them apart for reupholstery and I`ll look at the mechanism then. I`ll update the thread as soon as I figure it out.

Have a pair. Not disassembled. Interested they can tilt further forward.
