Title: A833 Shift Lever Hardware Question
Post by: Gary AAR on November 23, 2020, 06:37:04 PM
Finishing up the details on the rebuild of my 1970 Cuda A833 transmission, and I have a question about the correct hardware to attach the shift levers to the transmission.  I have two sources of information on the hardware that do not agree.
Source 1 - Original 1970 Chrysler Service Manual, which shows a "flat washer, lock washer, and hex nut".
Source 2 - Dave Wise E-Body Fastener Manual, which shows a "5/16-24 hex flange nut with serrations under flange".
Which source is correct original factory hardware?  Were both hardware setups used on the assembly line?  Attached picture shows the page from the Dave Wise Fastener Manual.
Thanks for the help.
