Title: Help me find leak
Post by: Katfish on January 12, 2020, 07:22:14 AM
70 340, I have a drip coming from front of engine.
It looks like it's coming from behind the power steering bracket.
Do these bolts go into coolant passages?  They actually don't look tight.
Freeze plug appears to be dry.
Hoping I can pull them out, add some pipe dope on the threads and it's not something behind the timing cover.

I don't know but if you back it off a few turns....

From your pics I can't really see any evidence of a leak. Looks pretty dry?

The 2 top long bolts go through the water jackets.

Well, both bolts were loose and wrong length.
1 is too short and the other bottomed out.

Top hole is wet, bottom is dry.  So that was the leak.
