Title: Wiring on 3 speed wiper motor fried
Post by: FSHTAIL on March 19, 2021, 12:22:42 AM
So I'm installing the hood to cowl rubber seal and have the stereo on in my 73 Cuda while doing it, my right arm brushes against the wiper motor and I feel it putting off some serious heat, I looked at it and the insulation is coming off of the wiring leading to the motor..

I turned the key off from the ign..

What would cause this?
Never had this happen to any or my classic Mopars before..

Yikes man...
I can't even seem to find replacement 3 speed motors without coughing up a few hundred bucks..

A short in the wiring, motor, switch or binding linkage. Your motor can be repaired but you would need to find the problem before reinstalling the motor
