Title: 383 Motor Mounts.
Post by: Racer57 on August 07, 2018, 07:41:03 PM
70 Cuda  383

Passenger side motor mount rubber has chunk missing. Got new mounts and have car on lift. Never payed much attention before, but the bracket on both sides of engine appear to be the same one, just reversed. One side will be a lot harder to remove because it can't be done from under car. If there was a right/left bracket replacement, it would be a hellva lot easier. I think.  :D

Is the same bracket used for both sides or is there a right and left hand unit ?

They're different. Isolators are the same but the brackets are different.

Just to clarify...   Does the long bottom bolt come out towards the rear of the car on both sides ?

No.  Driver side comes out the rear and passenger comes out the front.

Yeah, thats what I have. Whoever designed the bottom bolt to go out the front needs shot !!!  Nothing I hate more than going back and forth between top and bottom to work on something that could be simple.  :verymad:
