That's a lot of car for $40k.  Wonder why no widebody?

Beside cost, in the press conference they said the tire compound enables the car to grip 3x more than the widebody.

Ha, ha: I'm reading the article and thinking "well 485 isn't enough maybe add nitrous" and read a bit further and that is what the author was thinking as well.

11.7 and it's not even the widebody.  That's impressive, but why not use the widebody on it?

Because some of us don't think it's attractive and it allows them to release the 2019.5 Challenger SP 1320 Widebody later.

Cool car! These cars are too heavy, nice to have some "diet" options! I'm sitting on the fence with the fender flairs. I don't hate them as much as I  did when they first came out. But still think the car looks better without them.

They should've announced this at Carlisle

Being built for the strip and the tie of 1320 to the 1/4 mile, I think it was cool they did it at the Mopar Mile High Nationals. But it is my hometown so I may be biased.  :D

I really just want them to produce a 6spd manual Charger for me. I have car seats I need to haul but autos put me to sleep.

I'm not familiar with these cars but might consider this one. Is it possible to take more weight out of them? Like gutting the bumpers or anything else like that?

The 1320 with just the driver seat weighs 4127 lbs which is 87 lbs lighter than a regular R/T Scat Pack. You can always strip more off the car, like a spare tire/jack and other unnecessary parts but you will need to maintain the safety to drive on the streets and pass tech at the track.

Oh: I thought they were like 4500lbs. 4150 isn't that bad.

If your going to run it on the track get some drag radials. Front skinnies also help. I had M&H drag radials front and back on my "09
and dropped a couple tenths of my 1/4 mile et. Front skinnies help big time also. Less rotational mass on the front end.

Stock tires and rims weigh a lot.

Shorter tire on rear, skinnies on front. Nice gain. :alan2cents:
