Title: Brake booster
Post by: Rich G. on September 23, 2020, 08:33:02 AM
Is there any way to identify the correct booster for my 71 cuda . I have a spare booster and the only thing I see is a pentastar with 8268 and the other boss is stamped 8550 . It about 4" deep and 10" wide.

That's a '70 booster, however apparently they were carried over into 1971 at least for a while.  I have a October built '71 Challenger with the Bendix booster and I've been told it could be OK.  The plated style booster I believe which was made by Midland Ross is the other booster used on '71s.  If your car is a later in the model year build date the Midland Ross was almost certainly what originally was on it, but if it's an early build date like mine the Bendix booster is considered acceptable that the car might have originally had that one.

Is a power Drum and a power Disc brake booster the same?
Were these boosters used on B-Bodies?
