Title: Battery leakage
Post by: Andrewg on April 08, 2018, 07:20:27 PM
Pulled the battery tray and found this lovely surprise beneath. Add it to the list I guess.

:pullinghair:  It sucks to find that stuff, but overall that area doesn't look as bad as many others I've seen.

Maybe I'll just put some cardboard there and call it good.

That's fairly common.

What's the best way to fix this?

Form a new patch to match the contour and then carefully zip cut the old out of there and weld in the new patch. You can buy a whole new inner fender but they cost about $250 and you don't need the whole thing.

Mine looked just like that. Took maybe an hour to fix it with a homemade patch.  You can do it!

Well I guess I have an excuse to learn how to weld.

Maybe if there is a member near that has a welder and some experience?
