About 370 miles from my home... very tempting.
This should be a great event! Looks like Irwindale Speedway has plenty of space for everyone to be safe and have a wonderful time. Super happy to see this event is going to happen safely.

About 4 times the size !
:perfect10: About 40 miles closer to me. Great !
I am definitely down for the trip! That's probably the best news I've had since March. Irwindale is a fun racetrack and should make a pretty good venue. Are they going to have us out in the middle of the field or in the parking lot or ?
No matter where, it should still be fun just getting out there! My ragtop is itching to make a nice long cruise like this.
Right after typing this out, I checked Facebook and a memory popped up from exactly one year ago; A video I posted of us at Irwindale watching the races! It was a great night last year. I'll take the timing of that random memory as a good sign that this year's show will also be great!

The parking lot and drag pits is the largest unobstructed area.
Swap closest to Arrow Hwy and main entrance
Show between swap and drag strip
Drag pits near fwy furthest from main entrance near starting tower (most east end of facility)
Free Participant Parking will be behind circle track grandstands with overflow into circle track pits, and even circle track if needed.
Less than half the distance for me so would be more convenient.
But I enjoyed driving longer in the 'Cuda so no deal breaker if it was still being held in Van Nuys.
Glad to see that all proper precautions are being taken especially at this time to protect participants.
However, as of this point I am not attending any social events.
That may change so I'm keeping my options open, wishing you all the best.
That would be a 3525km drive for me. I'll pass but hope you guys have a great time. Remember to :takepicture:
Well I am going to try my best. I need to get out more, this lock down is more like a knock down. :foul:
Border still closed for us.

Yes you can.
We've got multiple swappers already registered with FOUR spots. That's a lot of Mopar parts to sell!
Swappers are already loading up!
BTW this trailer now is full to the end. Those boxes are packed tight. And this is not one of the swappers with 4 spots
Some Vendors signed up already...
Glen Ray Radiators http://www.restorationradiators.com
McKellers Modifieds McKellar's Modified Rides brake, chassis, drivetrain parts, AMD vendor
Bruce Somer's Wiper Motor Restorations www.ns1aar.com
Redline Performance https://www.redlineperformanceinc.com engine building, engine parts, dyno tuning, car prep, wiring, and fabrication.
M & R Performance Mopar used parts, restoration, car sales (4 swap spots full)
Stephens Performance will be coming with AMD pre-orders only. So if you want to buy and save shipping contact them first: www.stephensperformance.com
Man I really envy you guys that are able to go to a show during a pandemic, must be nice. :'(

It's an outdoor Swap Meet. There's been outdoor swap meets in our area for months. Most not auto related, but that's irrelevant.
No grandstands
No presentations
The Drags are just Test N Tune. So no real "racing" to watch
BUT
We already have some stock vehicles participating in the drags. I think the relaxed environment is going to get some cool Mopars going down the strip.
Some show cars signed up for drags too so far....
440-6 Superbird,
440-6 4spd RR,
69 318 Sport Satellite,
70 440-6 Challenger RT/SE
Swap Pre reg numbers right now project to exceed past 3 Fall Fling shows.
That projects to be well over 110 swappers.
Should be the year 2020's biggest Mopar Swap Meet West of Carlisle Pennsylvania.
Vendors added recently
Stephens Performance www.stephensperformance.com
Glendora Dodge Mopar Performance. Also sells TTI, and other lines
Milodon www.milodon.com
Sounds like fun. That would be a 800 miles round trip for me. Let me think.

The Arizona "barn find" 71 Hemi Challenger 4spd will be on display at Fall Fling October 24, 2020
Along with a barn find 69 Hemi Charger 4spd, and 1969 special order Pink Super Bee, and a Patina survivor 69 Charger.
Come see them while you have the opportunity before they are stashed away or restored.
Wow: Those Hemi cars would be worth the trip right there. I think Canuckians can fly into the USA no problem, driving (except for a semi) is a no-go. Another year of not going for me though, I'll wait until things normal out a bit, it won't change my life if I miss all the car shows this year.
I talked to the Hotel event coordinator and she is extending the special $105 night rate. But need to contact here directly. :clapping:

@autoxcuda (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/autoxcuda_120) unfortunately we have family plans that weekend and will be out of town; I'll keep my eyes open for Spring Fling though.
Just wanted everyone to know. There are no limitations to General Admission tickets at Fall Fling at Irwindale Dragstrip. You don't have to bring a Show Car, Drag Car, or Swap Spot. Current Covid requirements apply. Just have fun
-CPW club
Will there be any shade? I'm considering bringing my car but would rather not sit in the sun all day. I know I'm a big baby.
Would it be okay if I paid at the gate? What time is the deadline for entering the show? Thanks
Just heard this event has been CANCELLED.
Statement from Chrysler Performance West and Irwindale Speedway & Event Center Regarding
"Fall Fling 25th Anniversary"
(October 20, 2020) Irwindale, CA - Officials from Chrysler Performance West and Irwindale Speedway & Event Center, in consultation with local officials, have made the unfortunate decision to cancel "Fall Fling 25th Anniversary," until a time when it can be assured that an event of this prestige can be hosted in a safe and successful manor. The event, previously scheduled for this Saturday, October 24th, was set to host a participant only Mopar Swap Meet and Drag Race on Irwindale Dragstrip. CPW and I.S.E.C. ask for patience and understanding from all participants as we look toward the future for possible collaborations.
All pre-paid participants will receive full refunds for the Saturday, October 24th event. Refunds will begin to be processed as soon as possible. Questions can be directed to info@cpwclub.com and info@irwindalespeedway.com

Ughhh. For the third time in a row I'm going to miss the show. First it was the fires in the fall of 2019 and then covid in spring of 2020 and now the fall fling being canceled. Let's hope for the spring.
@YellowThumper (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/yellowthumper_324) just making sure you see this.
I'll be down in the spring if the border opens. Sanity will be thin by that time though.
I guess I sound like a negative Nancy here, but I could never believe you guys actually wanted to run a show in the middle of a pandemic...numbers are rising still....this virus is far from being under control. :alan2cents:
Sheldon, I doubt the borders will be open in the Spring.....this week they are shutting down indoor restaurants, gyms, movie theaters etc... again in our area....

Large expansive venue all outdoors is the exact reason it should be held.
Normal life (even with lockdown) are far more dense then this would ever of been.
FYI I AM one that believes in the precautions. I personally have 3 fewer friends this year because of Covid-19.
My issue is the never ending floating curve that currently is not "following the science".
The only thing the policy is following is his personal adgenda.
I will avoid the politics even though I would love to write a speech about CALI and the reaction to all of this. Lets just :fingerscrossed: for the Spring Fling.
Screw it ! Let's have it at my house ha! Kidding I wish I had the room I would but seriously why don't we just do what the important do and do something like those shows they do at night In a large empty parking lot ? They had one at the hobby lobby in Burbank
I been to two in the last months or maybe even bobs big boy Toluca lake ?
The imports usually post on social media and about 150-200 cars in some cases more show up and it's pretty cool
I know pol had a show in a parking lot too about three weeks ago in Huntington Beach a show n cruise

They're trying this in our area as well and getting busted big time. Huge fines for the guys organizing them too..
Oh damn wasn't aware well this sucks becauese I still have the flyer from the last fling I went to and I think it was from like 2015
A diner would be cool too I know bobs still open but oh well 😔
Fyi here is an online ongoing listing for many shows.
Hope no issue from posting here.
