Two weeks later, on Amazon (never thought of looking there), he picked up a totaled 2010 SRT Challenger from a drunk driving accident. Everything was totaled but the 6.1 Hemi and NAG trans were still in great shape with only 3200 miles on it.
We picked up a rotisserie and pushed it a few doors down to the body shop this week. The quarters were so bad it was not worth blasting them, they just cut them off. All of this means a big order with
@MoparDave (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/mopardave_10)! :takemymoney:
Gerald is pretty excited about this one. Glad I could help and Parts are ordered.
I look forward to watching this one come together!

I love metal work. It's the most impressive time to see the car start to come back to life. :clapping: Keep up the good work.
Great to see some progress :bigthumb:
I always enjoyed stitching them back together as well. Nice bodyline on that new quarter. I haven't done metal work since the nice new AMD stuff came out.
Gerald actually got the LAST fender AMD had for this car. Ted sold them out at Carlisle and there are none to be had for another 4 months.

That's his good clean livin'! :andyangel:
I am glad Gerald got it ... it would suck to be waiting for 4 months !
More progress as the body is starting to come together. And yes, it was that bad.
We also added the US car tool rad support, and ended up just cutting off the old one. The last pic is the US car tool subframe connector to show you how bad the gaps are and the work it will require to grind down so it fits.

Coming along nicely. :bravo:
The project is coming along good. Got a question for u how bad was the rust in the lower front section of the driver side outer wheel well? I need to make a patch panel but if someone has a decent front lower section outer well wheel I'll take it.
Looking great , Glad Gerald is making time to work on this !

The rust was not bad up front, mostly in back.

Update on more progress, work on the doors, and oh by the way the body shop owner is selling his dragster. :burnout:
Seeing an E-Body on a rotisserie really gets my heart pumping. :inlove: It's like the start of a great new relationship. You are both going to learn a lot about each other and spend a lot of time together.... and in the end it will be something beautiful.

Pretty much the BEST and most exciting time of the project. Paint!
I would go with building the engine & getting it started for the first time as the most exciting part :alan2cents: :veryexcited:
It's all fun. When the engine starts in the car it goes from being a bunch of parts to an actual car for me. Getting everything welded up is exciting and paint is too. Having the bodywork done should be exciting but I find at that point I am just tired of it and it doesn't feel fun, fresh paint brings back the happy feelings.

Just my opinion but I think body color behind the grill is distracting. Here is what I had my painter do....
Good point and nice job.
Great progress, and I really like the blackout idea. You're way ahead of me so I'll get to see the finished grill with the black. That way I can decided if it's for me as well, mine Cuda will be yellow.
You will definatly want the blackout with yellow :bigthumb:
as you can see in the picture you see the yellow beside the rad right through the grill
Dan, she's looking great!!!!!
Cheers!

Not a lot of progress on the Cuda recently because Gerald is waiting for his outbuilding to be built. Once it is finished, we will move the Cuda and all the parts to the building and finish the assembly in there where there is more room. The outbuilding is coming along nicely!

Finances being what they are have delayed the finish of the CudaKat. The shell was still on the rotisserie and taking up valuable space in the shop, so we assembled the suspension and moved it to the back of the outbuilding for a while. We hope to pick this back up in the winter.

Moved the '73 out of the back of the shop and on a lift to continue assembly. First item was apply undercoating because this ain't no trailer queen.
