Just an idea. Often times someone needs an eye put on a car/part they are interested in buts it's far away. I've inspected cars for members on another forum, and saved one guy from a 100K mistake. Anyway, maybe a list of members, their location, and how far they would be willing to travel. I'll start.
Member- roadman
Location- Central Florida
Travel - 200 miles, covers east coast( Daytona ), west coast ( Tampa ) etc.
Just a thought, whatcha all think ?? Cody would need to set up the format.
I am ready to step up here as well. I can do Vegas when in Vegas or Eastern Washington when back up north near the arctic circle. I have already done 2 look and see reports with pictures. It is actually interesting looking at cars from a total neutral position. :toast:
I'm happy to help too. I did a video for a c-c member back in December. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phGPsKWJYLA&t=317s
I learned a couple things from the last video to be better next time. better zooming, lingering longer and digging in a little deeper.
Denver/CO corridor.

I'm available in the Denver area too!
I'm in. NJ. Just need to know what specifically you are looking for during an inspection.
Im available for the Philly area and have inspected a handful of times in the past for internet friends.

I'm no expert but I'll through my hat in the ring for southwestern Ontario.
There's a guy in my part of Ontario that does it for a living and of course charges you, but man....he gives the car an extreme through inspection. He was hired to check out my AAR and spent about 2 3/4 hours going over every inch.
His inspection helped sell my car, then just recently he inspected my buddy Tim's car and help sell that too.
Of course I would look at cars too, but I would hate to give my opinion on a car that someone bought and didn't like...then I look like the azz.

:iagree:
Neutral and unbiased car viewing would be necessary, and without recourse of course. :))
I'm in Dallas, Texas if needed.

Since my recent build blew my Ebody to smithereens, I can be very critical of what I see and I know what spots to look out for.
I can travel the greater SF Bay if anything pops up. Unfortunately I have not seen many for sale in this neck of the woods.
I wish I have seen more.
I think most of our members would be willing to "look" at a local car that someone is considering. Kind of a BS check to make sure the car is as advertised. Doesn't have to be an in-depth inspection. Maybe we should develop a basic checklist that would cover things like numbers matching or not, rust, and general condition of the various systems. Maybe a test drive if it's runnable. Like
@Cuda Cody (http://forum.e-bodies.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1) said, if you want to cover travel expenses...most of us would go anywhere to check out cars. :alan2cents:
I must have missed this section. I was just coming here to make a post like this. I was able to buy my car with help like this (thanks cody) and I would like to be able to pass it on. I'm not sure what the best way to do this would be though? Either a thread sticky with name and area with phone number or a directory that a member here takes car of. Basically you contact the person and they give you a list of people willing to help in that area. This would work better for people that don't want to there contact info posted. Just a idea
Always up for checking out Mopars, in New Hampshire seacoast area, southern Maine and north east Massachusetts.
I am in central New York, I do bodywork. I would definitely be willing to help. :driving:
Not much comes up for sale near me but I too am happy to look at cars in my area. I know a lot of the E-bodies within a 300 or so mile radius anyway.

Mopar Dave made two offers to look at that car for you as he's quite close and knows these cars inside and out as well as selling the parts for them on a daily basis. :alan2cents:

I'll tag along with Murray- as long as he buys the beers, eh? :D
I just read this post.
I'd be glad to help out anyone who needs an eye on some metal.
Of course There are several Denver fellas here that can look over in that area. I"m in the boonies so if anything comes up in the Colorado square i'd be glad to go have a look for ya.
Pretty much most of Colorado. I've driven most alley way's in most towns in the entire state so I'm quite familiar with most areas.
Done it before. Helped with lodging for fellow members also. Even played tour guide for a few folks. A few from out of the country as well. Always glad to help.

I have been in touch with Dave and i am in the process of organizing a meet and greet with the owner to inspect hopefully in the near future
I live in southern B.C. I have looked at cars for folks before and am willing to help if I can find time to swing it. :bradsthumb:
Great idea Roadman! If anyone ever needs a car from Sweden :) ,
I'm here, in the middle. A checklist would be a good idea, and a list of photos to take.
Put me down for North Alabama, Fairly knowledgeable of E-bodies, better on the '73 of course.
Been around Mopars all my life but details of other models I'm not up on so much.
I've done this before for a member/buddy, I'm down for eastern Nebraska, and western Iowa since I'm right on the border of both
Put me down for Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi

I can do eastern, PA and northwest, NJ. I've done this for people over on Moparts, so I'll gladly do it here as well. :slapme5:
