This chart is from Brad Miles (who does fantastic E-Body photographs and models). It's fun to look back and think about what color you would pick. :D I'm going EV2 with FC7 and GY1 a SUPER close 2nd. But tomorrow it might be FC7 with EV2 and GY1 2nd. It's that close for me.
What would you select? And does it change if it's a Cuda or Challenger?
I don't know the codes, but I love Burn't Orange. :bradsthumb:
K5 is Deep Burnt Orange :D Nice choice!

I should see if he will put the names next to them.... That would be cool!
My first car I restored I painted EV2 TorRed.....so I guess I did that for a reason.....next was GY3 Curious yella.....so I guess mine would be one of those....oh yea....FJ6 too.... :drooling:

Isn't EV2 Hemi Orange. ??? :notsure:
I like EV2 as well on an E-body, although there really are no bad choices.
FC7 for me, love In Violet!

I'll "Dodge" that comment...
I use this off of another web sight for reference material. (I would give credit where it is due but don't remember where I originally found this)
I love em all, but I have a preference towards the blues. 69-70 B5 in particular
if were just talking 1 car id order a b7 aar for 2nd id get a fm3 t/a cause my parents wouldn't let me buy 1 in 95 for 8k :crying: in fear of people saying i was Liberace. plus they didn't understand tough guys like pink :deadhorse:
B7 AAR = :inlove:
That B7 is sweet.
Blue is my favourite color - have 3 blue cars lol. B5 on the Challenger, LM blue on vette, and wife's harbor blue '57.
But I saw nice Challenger at Carlilse last year with gun metal gray. I would never look for a grey car but that was nice. If I ever was to re-paint the 65, I would consider that strongly.
EV2, EK2 and B5 Blue!
All on Cuda's!!!
Here is a great link that shows all available color choices broken down by year. Every so often, someone asks if a particular color was available from the factory. I like to reply with this link.

X9 T/A or AAR is a pretty big deal too with the graphics.
I'm leaning towards painting mine tb3. But I'm worried about the engine bay being just a wash out of blue
FC7 , GA4 , GB7 , TX9
EV2,FC7 but i really feel that I need a TX9 in my garage! Look at this -71 vert. TX9 V-code 4-speed with A22 on the tag (not possible in -71 but it's there according to Ola) :perfect10:
1970's FY1 "top banana" Dodge/"lemon twist" Plymouth & carryover from '69 EB7 "dark blue metallic" Dodge/"Jamaica blue metallic" Plymouth :woohoo:
:looney:
I made some changes to the color chart posted, my apologies to the author
I added "black" TX9 & some full-size ONLY colors are still missing A9, F9, M9, Q3, R8, T6
I also put "X" on the colors that were NOT STANDARD available E-body colors (16 colors + 2 additional introduced spring of '70)
I would have to choose TX9 for a cuda...they just look so mean in black :inlove:. For a Challenger, I would choose FC7 with white interior...beautiful!
EV2 and FE5 on Cudas. FC7 and EF8 on Challengers, followed closely by B7 for either body.
1. FC7 My first Mopar was a 1970 Challenger A66 340 4 spd in plum crazy
2. EV2
3. B7
4. FM3
It's funny how I forget about black and anytime I see a black E-Body I say WOW, I love that color. A Black T/A would be really hard to pass up.

I agree there was a black T/A with red guts at Carlisle one year. It was stunning! :inlove: :drooling:
There are actually very few available colors that I dislike. Most look really good when fresh. F8 is one of them. It looks great when fresh but really bland when faded. I like certain colors on certain years. If I had to break down what colors I liked the best by year it would be...
1970. EF8 AAR(Rallye wheels) or Hemi Cuda(body colored wheels) / FJ6 T/A(Rallye wheels)
1971. FJ6 Challenger R/T with white interior, white R/T stripe and Rallye wheels / JA4 Cuda, Rallye wheels and NO billboards
1972. JA4 Cuda 340 4-speed, black vinyl roof and black side stripe. I don't think the V21 hood blackout was available with JA4 but I would have added it.
1973. JA5 Challenger or Cuda. Black vinyl roof and side stripes. A very rare combo I've only seen a couple times would be JA5 with blue interior.
FJ1 looks pretty cool too for something different.
1974. KB1 is a cool color for 74. TX9 looks great on everything!
My 70 Challenger was originally DY3. It was painted a red color when we bought it. I don't think I've ever seen a dy3 car in person.
I like black and that works out well, as mine IS black. Having said that, that Winchester grey that Brad showed us a picture of on a Cuda is hard to fault as well.
Normally I'm not a big EF8 fan, but for some reason when it has painted wheels I get excited for it. :inlove:
My first Cuda was TX9 black as is my current restoration project. However, I also love Rallye red and Plum Crazy.
Fm3 for a 70. Fc7 for a 71

Not feeling much love for FJ5 around here....
TX9 is always badass, A TX9 AAR is seriously cool
FC7 is always a good choice...FY1, EV2, EF8 all great colors...
FM3 Heck Yeah!

My first Cuda was equipped this way. A5, black vinyl roof, black side stripe, black vinyl/cloth interior, 340/727 console shift, rally gauges, AC/PS/PB, sway bars etc.

My choices would most likely be 3 of the HIP paints, at an extra cost of $17.00 in 1970. (1) EK2 go-mango, the color of my Challenger from '70 to present. (2) FY1 top banana (3) FJ5 sublime green.
In 1969 I owned. 1968 Dodge Coronet 500, 318, auto. Black interior, and a two tone exterior colors of GY8 and GY9 both gold colors. Real different. Thanks, Al
I like all the High Impact colors, however I am kind of partial to EV2 or Tor Red.
So.......EV2 is Definitely my first choice, especially with Black stripes! Love it.
 EV2 :inlove: It's one of the best!

FM3 with a white interior for 70 and Sassy Grass Green for 71 with Black hood treatment or stripe.
FJ6 EK2 or EV2 ..... Hard to make a choice! :notsure:
I thought the list of rejected colors at the bottom was interesting.

I Have always liked Curious Yellow , the way it color shifts but I doubt I would own one .
I also prefer J6 ? Sassy Green over J5 Sublime , Sublime just looks pale compared to Sassy , but again I would likely never own either
I love FJ6, I would own a GY3 car for sure especially a loaded Runner with all the trimmings.
I'm not really a fan of black but I wouldn't mind having one of each in every color. If I had to choose one it would a Challenger in fc7 with white interrior. 8)
Either white, or panther pink for me.
That being said, I haven't seen an e-body look bad in any colour.
I like a lot of colours too....but if I had my choice...Curious Yellow or Sassy Grass green :alan2cents:
I like the odd ball colours.
Had FC7, Currently have GY1, would love FM3
But I think EL5 is seriously underrated.
I had an FM3 R/T (in this shot I am about to dispatch an LS7 powered Chevelle) for almost 20 years. It's cool but I find no need to find another one. I really don't want another FC7 car either. Other than that I would repeat any of the other colours. Myself I don't want an EL5 car but if I did it would have to be a 71 Runner.
Never cared for EL5... To the point when a girl told me her father had passed away & left her a 71 Hemi Bee I didn't even go look at it..... Had a story about it being a magazine test car... Never heard that kinda fluff before..... :headbang:

Love it.
That was a nice car Wild. I still have a copy of the road test too.

Yeah, I blew it.. She wanted to sell it pretty bad, If I were the investor type I could have done very well... Just wasn't interested in a butterscotch car.... It wound up in Wellborn's stable... Along with another local car that I was trying to buy but which was never going to be sold... A Petty Blue Superbird... White interior, 440-6 4spd.... I first saw the car around 73 when the family moved here, then a month later it flew past us on a country road probably doing 100+.... I found out where the guy lived & knocked on his door probably 30+ times throughout the years... Nope not for sale, never gonna be for sale.... Then one day I'm talking to a Chevy guy & he tells me his buddy just bought a couple wing cars.... Only one guy I knew of had a couple wing cars... Sure enough... The guys wife caught him cheating.. Big D, Judge gave her the cars & she sold the pair for 15K around 95-96 time frame....
Ack! Yes, I've missed a few as well. One was a Superbird too, guy didn't want to sell it ever. Finally with the quarters cut off of it and sunk into the mud so bad the torsion bars rusted he wanted to sell, Too late buddy, the VIN lives on installed on a Satellite though.....
Ive owned FE5, B5, FC7, EL5 and now a K6 bronze metallic.
I have to say my favorite's are FK5, EL5, and I do love EV2 alot too but it is very popular. I tend to like the odder brown colors alot! liked my Plum Crazy bee but its now over done i think.
