Soooo... I spent 4 hrs. per tire tediously painting the letters white only to have the girls at Adam's car care display at Goodguys wipe them right off. The duplicolor pens don't work. Thinkn of using real paint. Or these:

They seem to be among the best. And offer a lot of choices, colors and sizes. Including custom. And semi-permanant.
Need to sand the tire. uhg.
Figure white? Mmmaybe yellow ?
Mopars at Bandimere show is coming up.
what do you think?

Seriously? They wiped them off. :Thud: I think they look great on there and I love the classic white look. Retro muscle at it's best.
I like them. Looks serious

If you do go this route, I would love to see some closeup pics when done.
It seems these stickers would conflict with the existing perforations/raised markings and would have some odd "bubbles" then.
Side note, have you ever thought of a red pinstripe on your rim lip? Or is that too "hot roddy?"
For whatever the nostalgia look is worth, I believe I'll vote for the raised white lettered tires. Thanks, Al
Guess I'll be the odd man out... Never been a fan of white letters.... Love your car, not the tire lettering....
I love the white letters, and I suggested the red pin stripe before as well. :drooling:
Muscle car look IMO. I like it. :bigthumb:
Thanx for the comments. Yea the red rim stripe is too over-done for me. Too modern of a fad. A good look,Just not for me. Thanx Al. And yea, There's a bunch of lines on tires these days. Most of the "tire stickers" need to have the tire sanded for optimum adhesion. And that's where I get hung up. I did sand some on the backside and it is pretty easy, But doing the whole sidewall !? I'm not ready to do that just yet. Says use a palm sander. Uhg. Maybe get some model paint and try again with the existing letters.
RWL look nice on a static display and just scream muscle car too me. However, when cars are in motion, the letters make em look like whitewalls, which I don't like at all.
I'm not a big fan of black sidewall and black wheels with nothing to break it up. A polished wheel lip or red line or gold line looks nice, IMO.
FWIW, the red pinstrip on the wheel lip goes all the way back to the late '70 - early '80ss. I recall seeing that on some Fords and definitely on the white painted aftermarket truck wheels.
Hmmm, I'm thinking of a nod to the slicks era on my polyglas',

I've seen these tire stickers in person and they really look good! You can get them to say anything, and the owners were happy with the results. I would stick to white, no yellow.
My vote is for white staying in classic mode but I have seen some new ones in yellow that really make the car tires pop. Depends on what you want to express.
well been busy. my bro crashed his bike dirt jumping real bad. One thing after another around here. Was scary.
Just found some time to get these on. After looking at a bunch of manufacturers I decided on the tire stickers brand. They are by far the best IMO. One of the pieces had letters falling off the backer. Really made for hassles. But I persevered. Otherwise pretty clockwork. LOTS of time prepping the surfaces. All in all not too bad. I'm pretty picky and try real hard. Tedious: Just my style. Ha. Got a little clean up yet.
I like them. was too dark down there. Makes it look like a hot wheels car to me! :driving:
Mopars at Bandimere next weekend. I'm comn' and hells comn with me. :Stirring:

HOT WHEELS! lookin' goood
You made the right choice. Love it. You have one of the most beautiful round tail modified Cudas ever. Always feel free to post pics of your car. Love it!
Those look perfect!! Awesome job! :perfect10:
Only seen the advertisements, so I imagined they were going to be exaggerated, but yours are much more subtle.
Would like to hear how they hold up after flogging for a while.
Good job getting that arc right too. If I did it, I probably would've messed up and did "Goody Ear".
Not a big fan, but the only 1 you need to please is you! Just wondering why you would go to all the trouble to black everything out and then put white letters on the tires? :dunno:
I totally dig it. Nice job.
Eh too much of a good thing can be too much sometimes. Gives it the race tire look. They come in many different sizes and custom to your tire! These are 1". Not too big not too small on the 17".
I feel as though it brings my vision to life.
Round tail lights forever!

Looks cool and all, I get the look your after. It just seems to me your paying to advertise for a company.... to my way of thinking they should be paying you to advertise for them. :)
When I was involved with circle track racing rookies would plaster the car with decals. I'd say what did they give you for the race car? Usual answer was nothing, then why are you running their decal I'd ask. :dunno: :looney:

Contingency. But, not everyone pays that and it certainly was more prolific in drag racing than oval track.
Yea I get your drift. Butt not that big of a deal. Got a buddy who pro shoots autos. So I'm collecting locations and ideas for photo shoots. Need good ones to solicite companies I like and have used. He has a couple of deals going. Mostly jeep stuff. He's got a crazy wrangler. They give him stuff and he posts pictures online. They love it and send him more stuff. Works at the jeep dealer here in town. Nitto rep. Is a friend of his. FoX shoX. Bigger Baer brakes. Stuff like that. Having raced DH bikes extensively I know all about the "traveling circus" as we call it. And the mark-ups I agree Brad 100%. At least give me a break.
Hey HP2
R/T
so last night I emailed "tire stickers" asking for a quote on 20" tires for my challenger pre-done. And attached a couple of quick pix of the cuda. They emailed me back right away, Gave me 35% off. The squeaky wheel get's the oil.
IMO - Raised white letters add to the aggressive look. :alan2cents:
I like it as you say it breaks up all the black &gives it a racing tire look :bigthumb:,
I probably would have just done just one side & see how long it takes anyone to notice !! :))
I like it. Personally I would have went with a smaller size letter like the first ones you painted on.
Apparently, someone else liked them as well.
