Title: Hydraulic Lifters, what kind of luck are you having with them?
Post by: Scooter on May 06, 2021, 11:47:30 AM
Had a pretty bad knocking lifter last September in my 360LA and I ended up replacing them all with a new set of COMP Cams 822-16, the same lifter that was in the car making noise. Fast forward to today. If the car sits for a week between drives I get some tapping at startup for a few seconds. I'm running Mobil 1 synthetic 10w-30 and am using a WIX oil filter. I'm replacing the heads in a few weeks and am considering new lifters. Anyone have better luck with Hughes, Lunati, Howards, other?

Johnson lifters are the best but they make most of the lifters now for all brands , the other option is EDM lifters with a tiny oil hole feeding onto the cam lobe . Bleeding down a little is normal , this is how a hyd lifter adjusts for normal operation .
