Is anyone familiar with this unit? What age would it be?

Well Murray, I suspect that its a Car Warmer!!!
Made by the Chrysler Corporation.
I suspect that because it says right there on it! :)
Jason
There's one in every crowd. ::)
When I read the title of this post I was expecting some young thing to keep Neil warm? Either that or a sweatshirt for summer weather? :Stirring:
How does it plug in or hardwired? Never seen one of those before?
I'm not sure Brad. I'm trying to learn about this thing. It doesn't come up on Google.
for the most part - during the '60s, you can add 40 to the first 2-digits of a Chrysler part number to get the approximate year of first use
ballpark * 17 + 40 = 57 ** 1957-ish

It makes me wonder though. Is that date that it was CSA approved 1933? That should give an idea as to when the manufacturer first put it out. I agree that it's old-doh- but the grille styling seems more late 40's, early-mid 50's. A quest! Is it rated for old Mitchell farmer heat? :D

It's okay...we'll meet up later to apologize to everybody :drinkingbud: :haha: :haha:
Saw this on eBay. NEMCO is currently a manufacturer of food handling equipment including electric food warming trays, so I'd guess that the Chryco one originally pictured is a NEMCO unit that was relabled. The two heaters have the same CSA approval number on their labels.
Can't help on the vintage, but it's maybe a little more info.
Mostly, I'm trying to keep our Canadian friends from beating up on each other too much. Pretty soon hockey sticks and beer will be involved. :pokeeye:

Good find Warren. I think you're right about it being a relabeled unit. It's kind of a cool old unit in a way although I think it pre-dates the stuff I usually pick up. The seller was asking $80, then marked it down to $40.
Sounds like he's getting warmer :D. As for the comment about Canadians, beer and hockey sticks.....yeah, so? Hockey without beer is just exercise, and who the hell would want to do that? We get enough of that between working on our old clunkers and shovelling snow in the winter. AND, no more cheap shots about your seniors from the peanut gallery in Georgetown, eh? :))

Weather turns cold along with the jokes.
Could it be a form of block warmer for the winter months?
