I'm buying Cody lunch at the fall fling. Probably his buddy too. See some of you at the spring fling? I'll be digging for treasure. Will briefly check out the car show, prefer to be digging though.

CARS? maybe I should go? :burnout: I'll be there .....
Hopefully someone will post a bunch a photos. It's always a great event.
Things kicked off today with the Spring Fling Speed Festival.
I brought my digital scales for the Mopar guys to find out what the weight and balance was on their cars.
This is Ed Wogulius's 71 Challenger. 340, 4 spd, t/a hood, aluminum heads, cast iron ex manifolds, full interior, no a/c, power steering car..
Last scale reading pic (#3) is with Ed in the car.
That is F/R 56.4%/43.6% weight split w/o driver. (scale is just reading rear percentage)
F/R 55.6%/44.4% weight split w/driver
 man I wish I was there. One of the best events every year. Thanks for sharing photos. Please don't stop. :bigthumb:

I'll try.
But most will come after the show. Just too busy at the show to post.
I talked to one swapper bringing a very solid (in So cal terms) 73 Challenger roller.

:iagree: I'd so love to go someday .... and bring my car for the track part. That looks like so much fun!
Well it looks like I will be able to make an appearance on Sunday.
Kids game is at 8 in the morning. When it is over I will hop on road for hopefully only an hour drive
Sunday will be a beautiful day.
The park grass is the best in over a decade. Not much dust at all today when we were out there setting up.
I wish I was going..... Someone please post a lot of photos.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that's Wade's car?
@Cudino (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/cudino_194)
Absolutely correct Topcat! Weather down here is awesome, and we're having a great time at the show. Looking forward to tomorrow!
Oh, and my apologies for spreading misinformation with my old signage (pictued earlier). I made that sign before the 3rd Export 1971 Hemicuda Convertible was discovered. Although that car no longer exists today in any original form there were actually 12 produced back in 1971.

This is one of the best shows and it bummed me out I had to miss it. I'm already looking forward to Fall fling and have my fingers crossed that next year's Spring Fling and the Portland Swap meet to not land on the same weekend again. :fingerscrossed:

EDIT by Cuda Cody to flip photos.
:wowzers: Man, I'm really kicking myself for not making it down there. I thought about trying to drive down Saturday afternoon and all night just so I could see the Sunday show.

sweet mother!! that is a great, repairable, driver quality set there! and a very fair price!
The trim pieces alone go for $200-$300

That set is missing the drivers side door (and inserts of course).
So what are the chances of finding a lone door to complete the set? I don't even know if they sold.
NICE.......too bad I am on the right coast....
Cody, why do my iPhone pics show up here rotated?
In the past when I post pictures on other forums they will show rotated IF I've took the pics with the iPhone rotated for a landscape shot.
Sooooo, I specifically took my pictures with my iPhone straight up in portrait so that wouldn't happen.

Ahah, with that door panel missing, it set value would drop to $150-$200 for the trim alone. I usually give $100 for the rear set of 4 and $100 for the front pair of inserts. Luckily I happen to have another bare drivers door piece that would make that a complete set. :takemymoney:
We've had that happen before with iPhones. It seems they auto rotate while you're taking the photo, but it seems they always save the photo with only 1 way up. Try taking 4 photos of something on the wall and rotate your phone each time. Then post it and we'll see what happens? :notsure:
I'm going to try it too.... stand by.

Weird, I use nothing but my iPhone for photos and it works without those problems.
I just started uploading those photos to my PC.

On my PC the photos are tilted like they show here. But when I posted those same photos on forabodiesonly.com they are straight up.
Ok. I just took these pics with the same phone as the others.
First pic is straight up. Others 3 are with me rotating the phone counter clockwise every 90 degrees.
Maybe it might be a simple setting on the phone to change how it saves the photos? :notsure:

Yea, I'm thinking phone deal. Especially since they come into my PC the same way. But odd it's not an issue with the other site.
From Spring Fling Cruise-In at Bob's Big Boy Northridge.
This 70 340 Cuda was a great survivor. Tried to take some reference restoration pictures of it. Took more on Sunday.
Note factory carpet cutout pattern on drivers footwell. You can lay and original carpet on a repro to get the pattern correct.
Note A/C components.
Owner had question about seat bottom pattern. Looks different than repro (other original cars) pattern. But has same texture, thickness feel, etc as original ???

Who's 340 car? I think I met him on Saturday, and his name was Mike. Talked with him for a bit about the 340 car and his AAR. thanks.
Great photos! I was just flipping them but I think you got them flipped. Super nice photos for reference! Love those cars that we can all learn something from. :bradsthumb:

On my Windows 10 File Manager set to view pictures preview, they show straight up. BUT when I open them in Microsoft Office 2010 Picture Manager, they are rotated like I showed here. So I fixed them in Pictures Manager and all is fixed to upload from my PC.
But that does help when I want to post something here directly from my IPhone. :Thud: :headbang:

Check out the door sticker date/mo..... Late car.
Your thoughts?
When Barry and Dan talk about how SPD dates on fender tags are not very accurate and how Door stickers are more accurate, made me want to take pics of the door stick of these two cars (AAR pics to come).
Good catch! Being late would explain it.
I like the no grommet in the carpet on the hi / low beam switch. Thanks for sharing these. Awesome!

If you need any photos or info about Mike's wifes 340 Cuda or Mike's AAR LMK.. The reason Mike's AAR made it was my car broke down so we towed it home & jumped in his AAR... Andria's car was coming down with me when mine quit.... Kinda funny I was bummed that mine quit but it worked out well cause otherwise the AAR was staying home....
BTW I sent Mike a link to the website, hopefully he'll be joining us......
You know you're a hardcore Spring Fling mopar swap meeter when....

And nice additional touch with 5 gallon pail full of goodies hanging off the stroller.

Are there other cars with build dates near or after this one that can be verified without blackout??
Might not be a good idea to make a generalization without some other data.

The 5 gallon pail is bungee'd to the stroller frame to keep it come swinging and banging. I mean, that would get quite irritating to the little guy.

If you can only go to one which is better Spring Fling or Fall Fling?
Spring Fling is a two day car show but with the extra events it's four days.... Thursday is the Willow Springs Road Course experience, Friday the Malibu Cruise....
Fall Fling is only a one day event but there have been some really cool items that pop up in the swap meet....
It's kinda cool going to both, but if I had to pick one I would do Spring Fling. The 2 days is nice.
I will be going to the Fall Fling. Hopefully I will take my new purchase.
Hmm: I think I'll plan on driving down for Spring fling in 18 then. I have been going to the MATS but it's time for a change.
We'll see you there..
Penciling it in again but attendance hinges on kids sports.
2 more seasons (junior this year) and I gain my car life again.
Mike.
Kids, ya love'em buttttt :haha:
Yes! But girl can jump...
Not a bad tradeoff
Will be there with my buddy Rick,a Chrysler trained MOPAR mechanic. I'll look for you guys, will most likely be wearing forum shirt. Ran into, 1wildR/T, at this years Spring Fling. Be there or be square.
