Title: Alternator Bracket
Post by: moreparts on December 01, 2020, 11:07:53 AM
Does this bracket use the higher hole for 440s and the lower hole for 383 alternator mounting?

I've also seen the lower bolt hole have a spacer on both sides of the bracket on some cars.  Is that correct?

Yes the two bolt holes, 1 is for 383 and 1 for the 440.

As far as a spacer used on the outside of the bracket on the lower bolt, not sure, don't recall seeing one like that.  All the ones I have seen or noticed only had the spacer between the bracket and pump housing.

Hope this helps

Big help!  Thanks.

Most of the ones I've seen don't have that extra spacer, but I've seen a few oddballs like that.  I think I saw one posted on this forum too, but good luck with me finding that one.

I should also clarify.  That location with the spacers on either side of the bracket is the lowest one on that pic I posted.  Not the the lower of the two where the alternator itself mounts.
