Post by: roguedc72 on September 07, 2018, 07:33:43 AM
here it is ,another broadcast sheet question,I know you better informed guys are probably sick of seeing them but here goes,I want to replace my alternator on my 72 challenger and make sure I put the correct one on,no problem I thought, grab the broadcast sheet, get the code, google a decoder site and it will tell me which one, 41,60 amp etc... but there seems to be an info gap between the sheet and the actual hardware that's on the car,my sheet, under alt lists "04",all the decoders list "F15,17,18 and so on,what info gap am I not seeing here? I'm not being lazy and letting someone else do the work but I seem be missing something here. Any info would be very helpful, thanks

Most likely the number on the sheet is the last two digits of the part number of the alternator.  Look up in the parts book all the alternators and see what it lines up with.
