I'm bored out of my mind because my back isn't letting me do a whole lot so I've been looking back through the forums to catch up on much of what I missed.
I came across a couple of threads about V02 cars and I'm wondering are they rare or are they just rare when they're white with a blue roof? On my morning 'get the back moving' walk I took a picture of my Challenger fender tag since I either haven't decoded it before, or I forgot I did it. I haven't used a photosharing thing in a few years so I don't know what the best one is at the moment but I decoded the tag and got this.

Once my back is better I want to pretty up the Challenger but I don't know if I'm going to respray it orange or go back to FJ5 with a white roof. It's Orange with a 440, go wing and TA stripe with the hood sticker right now but I've never liked the TA stripe on it and would rather have the butt stripe.
I know it ultimately comes down to what I want, but I like FJ5 and I plan on doing the Cuda in Sassy Grass and there's another Challenger down here that's Sublime with a white painted roof. I've also considered doing both cars in Sassy Grass but the name GreenGo in Puerto Rico is a little close to Gringo
As was discussed in the other thread, definitely a rare option.... With two of them down there it makes me wonder if they were ordered for a specific purpose... I know in Mexico they have green & white Taxis..... Challengers don't really lend themselves to being taxis but maybe they were company cars for a business?
I think the other one was just painted the way the owner wanted, I don't think it's original.
That was really a neat combo. If you were in mainland U.S. I would suggest painting it back to original but where you are I agree with doing it whatever way you like. I don't imagine there's a lot of Challengers in Puerto Rico so it will be an eye catcher no matter what you do. Good luck with your back, I found yoga to be the best cure for mine after I fractured some vertebrae and put up with years of pain.
I do have a pic of it. Is photobucket still the way to go or is there something better now?
Photobucket is not the way to go. What type of device do you use to access this forum? There are a few ways to post pictures here and they are all easy to do.
Either PC or iPhone. I have the picture on the PC now
Just load straight from your computer to the website.... This website has excellent hosting....
Step 5 is the easier way to upload a photo. 1 click of your mouse is all it takes to upload. Just click "Choose File" under the Attach below the reply box. :bigthumb:

I'll give it a shot
What a great color combo. I have NEVER heard or seen that combo before. :drooling:
Thanks for the photo. That tag is in nice shape, the rest of the car pretty decent as well?
The rest of the car is in pretty good shape. The clearcoat is peeling and there are a few bubbles and paint peels. The floors need fixing but for the most part it's good.
I've been googling for a sublime with white roof and black stripe, but I can't find one. I've found black roof with black stripe and white roof with white stripe and those were vinyl roofs. I'm really leaning towards factory color now though
Here's a craptastic photoshop of what it might look like
That's one slick color combo!! I vote for original colors!

:iagree: nice color
Assuming that I'm not missing a fender tag with more options, what would the car have come with for wheels, hood, tail panel color, grille color. I'm seriously considering going back to fender tag correct with interior and exterior but keeping the 440. I'm thinking it might look pretty cool with steel wheels and hubcaps.

You would need the broadcast sheet for that information. Have you looked inside the car for one ?
& the V5X isn't a side stripe .....
they are body side mouldings with a "BLACK" vinyl insert - a $29.45 OPTION (six pieces, 3 each side)
Here's my buddies old V02 car

I don't think it's there, and if there is one it's probably not for this Challenger. The interior is all black now and a couple of the panels are black dyed red panels. The car was put together from a few cars I think. Some Interior panels are dyed from white or red and the raisin bran hood used to be B5. And that's just what I've discovered without doing too much investigating. The rad support, cowl and vin all match though

Those were just for sale. But I need cuda ones and those were chally's.
No build sheet automatically trumps the wheels up to 15X7!
You could check the back of the glove box for a build sheet .
Cool color combo :bigthumb:
After lots of thinking and googling I've decided to spray the car sublime with a white roof with the blackout on the hood and the go wing. I'm not going to use the little side stripe because it looks a little grandma car to me, but I'll either go with a butt stripe or the wide black side stripe. I'll be working with a limited budget on the Challenger so I can finish the Cuda in Sassy Grass with billboards and a go wing
That'll look good. I'd leave the go-wing off or did it come with it originally?
I don't think it had one originally, but it has the holes in the top of the trunk for both the go wing and the TA ducktail. I plugged the holes for the TA with some plastic autozone plugs for now. Once I get the car into the garage to see what needs doing I'm going to decide what direction to go. I've decided to go with factory colors on the outside but I don't know if I'm going to change the interior back to white and what I'm going to do with wheels. I'm thinking steel wheels with dog dishes though.
:wrenching: Did you find that car in Puerto Rico?
Yeah. I found it here a few years ago.
:wrenching: What part of Puerto Rico? I got my 71 Cuda in Carolina; I remember the first 71 Cuda I saw and tried to buy was in New Jersey back in the 90's didn't pull the trigger because the car was in bad shape needed total restoration and the guy wanted $20,000 firm. Then I found the one I have now in which is in the process of being restored. It's the second 71 Cuda that I have found and I found it there in Puerto Rico.
I found my Cuda in Manati and my Challenger in Quebradillas. I have a 72 Charger that I found in a welding shop in Guaynabo and a H code 73 Duster from the same guy as the Challenger.
