Title: 71 Challenger OFF FAN HIGH vs LOW FAN HIGH heater switch question.
Post by: DamianC on January 07, 2021, 07:38:50 PM
Hi all,

I wonder if you can tell me if the 3 terminal electrical switch on the heater control panel is the same for AC as well as NON AC cars? They look physically identical, but on the AC heater panel the control is marked LOW FAN HIGH, and on the non AC heater panel it is marked OFF FAN HIGH. I understand that the AC panel has a dedicated OFF push button switch bottom left. I have a good switch from a non AC car and would like to use it to replace a broken and burnt switch in my AC equipped car. Just don't want to hook it up and burn something up.

Checking the parts manual, it looks like they are the same part: 2884727
You should be able to see the part number stamped on the switch housing.
If it is hard to read due to oxidation, you can rub it with a pencil eraser to clean it up.

Hooked everything up today, using the switch from the non AC car. And as expected, all is good. Switch works on all settings, no issues.
