Post by: gumby on February 03, 2018, 01:38:11 AM
Once I finally get my Challenger upgraded the way I want, I like to break in new sound systems to time sesitive songs, lol.

'72 Challenger will get to hear this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM6I-pmV0RA

ROFLMAO! serious! It would be sweet!

I'm seriously - almost ready to pull the trigger - on a HellCat crate engine.

That would be the perfect plate!

Old music and old cars go together hand in hand.

That triggered a few memories....
My Mom had a huge stereo system  , 5ft speaker etc.... It would effortlessly rattle the windows.
When walking home from school if I heard this song from a few hundred yards from home I'd keep walking ...... Come back an hour or so later...
( warning language)

Interesting how you tube leads you on and on down the rabbit hole...

Thanks!  Those are some from my '70s play list.

Others I remember but didn't include were mostly favorites of  my folks. Anne Murray, Linda Ronstadt, Carol King, Carly Simon, Carpenters, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Jesse Colter, of course Elvis.

There also was a lot of plain ole fashioned one hit schlock tunes out there too.

Cool thing about this is look at the diversity of the music lists and the fact you could hear any of these songs on nearly any a.m. station of the day.  The division between the  variety of music was not as pronounced.

Recorded and released in 1972, it's one of those issues that I love every note of; have the album as well. Every so often will find it's way to the cassette player in my 01 Durango.

But perfect for a 72 Challenger  :perfect10:

:deadhorse: All these great songs just won't sound the same unless it is played on a cheap 8-track. :)

I will be driving the 73 Challenger to Laguna Beach this summer to stay with my brother who had a 69 Coronet R/T convertible and a 69 GTX. He still has MOPAR coursing through his veins. The sound track to the movie "easy rider" does it for me....and some Grand Funk Railroad and Credence Clear Water will make the trip more enjoyable.

My very first 8-track was Chase's "Chase" album... Songs like "Open Up Wide" and "Handbags and Gladrags", not to mention "Boys and Girsl Together"... <sigh>

Another favorite was "Inna Gadda Da Vida", long version, by Iron Butterfly... released earlier, but did not catch it till early 70,s
