Have driven past the battleship a few times on trips from Texas to Fla, would be nice to attend.
I have been to the battleship, but I wont be able to attend.

Yes its about 4 hours, drove it many times going to Gulf Shores, it will vary from time to time depending of traffic on I65. Once you get past the Alabaster exit,, its clear from there.

I'm in the New Orleans area so i can't help you on a recommendation sorry, previously we stayed in the Hotel on site but it's closed now so i usually just drive in the morning of the show, if i was bringing a car i'd stay friday night. I've heard a few people saying they were booking rooms across the bay at Hampton and Hilton, hope this helps. I'll be under the big tent or riding around in a golf cart selling 50/50 tickets with beer :cheers:

If price is an issue I notice about 12-miles north on I65 the prices in Saraland are about half of the very closest
Only place I have stayed lately in Mobile is Days Inn & Suites Mobile, 5472 Inn Rd, Mobile, AL 36619, Tillman's Corner is a decent area with plenty of eatin spots & lots of hotels to choose from

I think we are going to be there. Car won't be ready till summer 2019 but we want to come out.

I spoke with the owner of this authentic Super Stock Plymouth for several minutes. He raced in the Detroit area when these were new in a 1962 Plymouth Max Wedge bought as new. Some of the older folks when they are relating stories of racing back then just have that air of authenticity - like a vibe - and the words just flow.

How was the swap meet? Looks like a good turn out and they had great weather for the weekend. Hopefully some of these cars will make the Chattanooga show on May 12th.

Indeed. I've been 4-times in the last 10-years or so. The weather can be hit or miss but this time was made to order. I'd say block off the days around the last weekend in April from here on out then wait to see what the weather forecast is.

Alan has improved considerably over the last several months. He attributes this to having reduced some of the meds he has been prescribed. A year ago he could only get around with a walker, last week he did not need it & his speech is clearer. Told me he was bringing some kinda monster Bib Block home with him from Louisiana to put in his racin Dart. Plans on being at the track in a couple of weeks with it. Hope he doesn't black out like he described last time he ran it. :unbelievable:
