Last post by Marty - May 17, 2024, 05:20:39 PMThe 440 assembly was prepped and sprayed with red oxide epoxy primer. HEMI orange was sprayed then clear coated. Did some further assembly but there are still some items that still need to be added as the assembly goes along. Plug wires, spark plugs, heat shields and such.
Prepped and primed the HEMI valve covers with epoxy primer. I applied three heavy coats of VHT Wrinkle Finish paint. Each application was applied in a different direction. Horizontal, vertical and diagonal with a five-minute flash. After a few hours or so the wrinkle finish appeared. The finish developed a nice even pattern and after a few days of curing the wrinkles tightened. Assembled to the engine.
The 1971 Cuda was finished up and taken to another shop to have the engine/trans reinstalled, front end rebuilt, rear suspension put back to stock and to remove those nasty wheels and tires to be replace by stock tires/rallye's.
This 1970 Cuda was found in Miami,Ok. It was stored in a shop after the front end was wiped out by the second owner. The Cuda has been sitting since 1985. The fender tags mysteriously disappeared after a third party be-friended the owner. 440/auto. It'll be a while before it heads my way.

Exceptionally nice car but now tainted by the "matching numbers" claim.

I have heard of people using it as a popular alternative when doing swaps. Probably worthwhile to check the throttle linkage and the mechanical connections first.
For what it is worth, here is the setup I made up using my stock linkage, some 340 parts, and 2 parts from Holley. See post #57.

Barracuda A67 "backlight louver package" $171.00 - includes:
V1X - black vinyl top $82.40
G36 (or G31/G33?) - dual racing mirrors $25.75
J68 - louver ($62.85 remaining $)
***The rear window louver J68 was NOT a stand alone orderable OPTION.
The VIN issues do not help in selling a car like this.

Last post by MoparCarGuy - May 17, 2024, 03:16:50 PMI would surmise that the buyer of the FJ6 BS27H1B206291 Cuda convertible believed what the Mecum site parroted in the write-up about this being a Shaker-Billboard car when it is not.
When they find out, they will likely flip the car again on Mecum as we see so many do after discovering their purchase was not what it seemed to be.

Drill/grind old one off. Install new one split end with a chisel make an x or a cross then smash with ball pean hammer!

How is this one replaced , my plastic piece are broken so the ball wont stay in the track
