Title: Repop fuel inlet
Post by: Fastmark on April 15, 2019, 12:56:40 PM
Anyone used one of these? I was told if they are zinc plated, it will come off with the gas.

Do you mean the filler neck? If so I've had a repop one in my car for 5? years or so with no issues?

Yes. The filler neck. I did not know that have been making them that long. They look like cheap galvanized coating to me.

Looks more like a chrome than the correct galvanized coating?

That's what I heard from reviews.

If you have your filler tube there is a guy that did mine with the correct lead finish. I looks great I highly recommend him. If you're interested I'll take a picture tomorrow. I'll have to dig up his name.

I've already talked to the guy that restores them. Pricey but supposed to be nice. I was hoping to order somthing to get this car finished quicker. Looks like it's not going to happen.
