Title: Mopar events for 2018 Calendar
Post by: Rev-It-Up on September 28, 2017, 08:52:35 AM
Hey guys!  I would like to come up with a good list of Mopar Shows to be put in the 2018 EBO Calendar.  I have a short list started below, but would like your help.  Please post large events you think should be included...not small local events.  Thanks for your help!

Spring Fling and Fall Fling are big events, but they do not announce the dates until a few months before the event.  I think Spring Fling will be announced next month.  It's normally in April.  Maybe @autoxcuda (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/autoxcuda_120)  will let us know as soon as he finds out so we can at least get Spring Fling in the calendar.

How many more Chrysler products do I have to own until I can just start hosting my own car show...?  :)

"Mopars at ViperMan Land" - kinda has a ring, doesn't it, @Spikedog08 (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/4cruzin_11)?!?!   :haha:

The Woodburn Drag Strip All Mopar show and race is a good one, but I don't think they have their date for 2018 set yet.  It's normally in Aug.  I'll see what I can find.

Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Race
Mid Michigan Motorplex
September 14 and 15

This may be the greatest drag racing event I have ever been to.  Tons of Mopars make this event!

This is NOT a F.A.S.T competition this is a true Pure Stock competition.

Although it is not an actual car show, the Indy Cylinder head show which is usually the first weekend in March is a large swap meet of various Mopar restoration pieces, race parts, NOS and used parts.  A two day show not counting Friday as a setup day, but Friday and Saturday are jamb packed with all of the major vendors that you will find at the other major shows.
The Don Garlits show in Ocala, Fl. is a regional show that has drawn cars and people from the East of the Mississippi for years.  This year and going forwards, the show is scheduled the second weekend in November and is no longer being held at Don's museum.
Two other shows worth mentioning is the Farmington, NC. show the second weekend of May.  The show this past year was scheduled up against a similar show in Chattanooga, TN.  The Farmington show is known for its drag racing and swap meet.  The Chattanooga show is trying to rekindle what was a Mopar Muscle Club International event from years ago.  Still waiting to get a confirmation on both events as going against each other on the same weekend is taking away from each other.
Thanks for your efforts.  Already putting things in place for the next year show schedule.  Leaving this Monday for the Hershey AACA show.  Not a Mopar Muscle type of show, but an unbelievable collection of cars and parts from all over the world.  All car people should see it at least once.

I've been to the Hemi Hide Out in Brookshire Texas and John has some awesome e-bodies there. Also, there is the Wellborn Museum and then MCACN in Chicago this November.

Hope these are helpful.

I don't have dates for 2018 yet, but most likely the same weekends.

1) Belvidere Mopar Happening
2017 dates were July 22-23
Boone County Fairgrounds
8791 Illinois 76
Belvidere, Il 61008
chicagolandmopar.com

2) Mopars at the Red Barns
2017 date was July 29th
Gilmore Car Museum
6865 N. Hickory Rd
Hickory Corners, MI 49060
gilmorecarmuseum.org

3) Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals
2017 date, November 18-19
Donald E. Stephens Convention Center
5555 N. River Rd.
Rosemont, IL 60018
mcacn.com

We attended the Mopars at Red Barns for the first time this year, and it was pretty good with a decent swap meet. Plus, the museum is amazing. If you've never gone to MCACN, you need to experience it.

Belvidere Mopar Happening will almost certainly be July 21-22.
MCACN is always the weekend before Thanksgiving, so for 2018 it will be the 17th and 18th.

The 30th Florida Mopar Nationals are 3-4-2018 at University Dodge, but the flyer I saw on FB does not have a city.

I have always wondered what happened between the Florida Mopar Clubs and the Big Daddy show.

So does that mean that the show that was held this year, 2017, the week after the Garlitis show, at the horse park is now moving back to the first weekend in November?  Garlitis did attend the show at the horse park, but the show was well below all of the hype and will have a tough road to survive if things do not improve.

Mopar De Anza show is June 10th.

Used to be a really great show early 2000's and is slowly fading.
Attendance dropped the last 2 years.

Power in the Pines and Monterey Mopar at the Beach shows rocked back in the days.

Our show at the Florida horse park is Nov 10-11th don will be there again this year. Last year being a new location caused some confusion.  Since the horse parks west address was wrong (it was the address we were given to use) we are having a dinner Friday night and entertainment (you must pre-register for it so we know how much food we need) FDOT is working on getting the entrance paved for the park so that is a PLUS. We hope to see you there!
