Title: 70 Cuda Vinyl Top
Post by: lphfh on April 03, 2020, 07:25:34 AM
I'm assembling a 70 Cuda with a vinyl top. Do I need to install the vinyl top before I install the weatherstrip channels and drip rail molding? Any insight would be appreciated

Before drip rail moldings and before windshield and rear window.

Yup, a vinyl top should be one of the first things, certainly before the front and rear glass moldings and drip rail moldings. It's easiest even before the glass because the trim clips should go on top on the vinyl as well.

I would tape and mark on the rear and front glass channels where the holes are for trim clips.Like Alan said the vinyl top should go over the holes.By marking below each hole you will have a good idea where the holes are.

Thanks for the reminder about marking holes. It's been close to 40 years since I've done a vinyl top.
