Title: Driver Side Shock Tower
Post by: 71chally on December 16, 2023, 09:29:26 AM
So I've noticed what appears to be a strip of arc or mig welding.

Wondering if it could be indicative of crash damage and if I should replace it?

My upper cowl was dented so I have reason to believe there may be some crash damage. Although I measured the  inner fender panels and they seem to match normal measurements.

I know I do need to diamond the frame/body measurements.

It depends where those strips of weld are. I've wondered for years if Dodge farmed out the welding on the shock towers to the local sheltered workshop. My car had large chunks of welding in random places; some where they need to be and some not. A good tape measure and a tram gauge will be your friend here. Good luck.

The factory shock towers are mig welded in place at the factory
