Title: HELLcRATE. WHO HAS DONE IT?
Post by: gumby on January 27, 2018, 06:59:07 PM
Iv'e got the money, I've got the time. Sort off, lol.

Seriosly, what are all the cost's involved? I plan on buying a Dakota Digital dash, a new wiring harness from Amrican Auto wire (need it anyway)

So, what are the TRUE costs?

I've got a 727 with a Gear Vendors overdrive. Can I get an adapter plate?

I really want to know what all is involved.

It's cheaper than building a 400 to 512, then adding a superchareger, then adding fuel injection.

PLUS, you get a 3 YEAR FACTORY WARRWNTY/

Minimum of $20k, in addition to everything you already have but with custom gauges and wiring you are getting closer to $23-25k.

these are in stock and currently I have sold 6 kits since Sema announced them.

these will be going in
2 70 Challenger
1 71 cuda
1 71 Bee
2 68 charger

warranty only covers if you purchase All 3 components together and that clock starts from the time of purchase. Not when its first fired up.

By three components, you are refering to the engine, the accessory kit, and what else am I missing? wiring? Thank you.

Seems you are under the gun to put it as fast as possible to enjoy the warranty period.

Just think how many folks will buy it and have it sit awhile.

I'd love to put one in my next project.

Last week and this coming week, Graveyard Carz episodes are about the Hellcrate install in their cloned Superbird with Magnumforce parts.  They actually show some of the issues and changes you will encounter.

We are doing a swap now with this 69 Charger.
Engine took 3 days to get with our local dealer matching the best price I could find.
Suspension being built with a 8 week window.
Trans will be ordered soon too.  Cost will eat up 30k pretty quickly for parts alone.

Is the supercharger going to clear that hood on the Charger?

warranty clock starts from the time of purchase. Not when its first fired up.

Ask Bruce (CorDodge) about how that works ...

Seems like you would want to have the car all reworked ready to receive it before actually buying the motor. You definitely don't want to be sitting on it for a couple of years before you finally get it in and fired up only to discover there's some kind of a warranty issue.

What kind of transmission will you be using?

I have a 1/4" clearance on the charger hood.  The supercharger is located just inside the bracing..  Very close!
We are running a 6 speed Tremec on ours.

Did that require special welding on the transmission tunnel?
