Title: Washer reservoir cleanup
Post by: Mrbill426 on August 02, 2020, 07:46:47 PM
I swear I saw a article here once about this but can't seem to search it out.   :notsure:  I want to clean up my washer reservoir and am wondering what does a good job without damaging the "plastic" tank.  It has the usual grime and rust stains you would expect in and outside a near 50 year old tank.

Thanks
:wrenching:

If it's Rust stains, I would try Evapo Rust.

It's pretty strong on removing Rust and not hurting plastics.

Shake it around every once inn a while.

@Topcat (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/topcat_46) thanks; I have some of that and will try it first.  :bigthumb:  Maybe bleach afterwards to get the "yellowing" out?  :dunno:

I've read in the past that boiling yellowed plastic can bring back the white look.  It probably only works with certain plastic.  I think the post I read dealt with domb light covers.  It's worth a shot boiling the washer tank.  They do make reproductions.
