Title: Torsion Bar Install
Post by: 7212Mopar on November 30, 2017, 12:52:13 PM
I have to ask this just to make sure I did not create a problem.  :(

I have the Hotchkis 1.1 torsion bars, rebuilt LCAs with new LCA bushing and pins. I greased and install the bars last weekend and I tap the bars with a hammer at the end to set them in the sockets. I must had hit the driver side harder in the last hammer blow and it sat 1/8" deeper pass the spring clip groove than the passenger side. The passenger side is just pass the groove of the clip. I measured the LCAs to the cross member and both sides are the same. I hope it is still ok because it would be a bear to back off the driver side torsion bar and I don't have the tool to do that.

Should be totally fine.  The spring is to stop them from backing out so as long as you are past the spring they should work perfectly.   :alan2cents:

They'll moved back and forth on their own as they twist around....no worries :drinkingbud:

I agree, no worries and they will move back and forth a bit anyway.
