Nice addition, I paid twice that for a original and it was in ok condition, wish I had waited. :takemymoney:
Nice! New crush cans too! I didn't know they were reproduced! :clapping:
That was a very needed item that has been hard to find for along time. :clapping: And the price is very fair too.
That's great! Whomever gets one, please let me know if the actual rim horn switch works. I purchased a repro rimblow several years ago (not an OER). It has the inner rubber horn switch cover and wire attachment. However, it does not work. When its hooked up, the horn is activated. There is no way to turn it off. Seller did note that the switch did not work in any of their units. I remember one of the steering wheel restorers was saying that he worked on one of the units I got and could make it work, but the channel was too small and additional work was needed to fit a new switch. So I would sure like to know if the horn switch works. The wheel itself looks great.
Just curious. Are the spokes painted or plated?
Great looking piece, I have always thought they are a classy addition.
That is awesome with fair pricing too .
Thanks Dave
Anlauto, You mentioned on another thread that your have ordered a couple of these steering wheels. Does the horn switch work? Thanks

Short answer would be YES.....I installed one in a car that my customer now has and it was working when it left here. The other wheel is mounted on the column waiting for the rest of the car to be painted. Now, I can't say with 100% certainty, that they were
OER wheels because the owner supplied them and bought them thinking they were original wheels, but I can't imagine anyone else making them as well.
I do have another brand new one from
OER that I just received last Tuesday, they look really nice, especially the Dodge center cap. I could install it in another car I have here to see if it works, but that seems like a lot of effort....
Looks very nice!
School me on the e-body crush cans for rim blows. I thought the steering wheels were interchangeable. I guess I'm wrong?
Maybe I am wrong but if you can't find a true OEM switch maybe there is no point in restoring an original wheel. If you have a Hemi convt. then I don't think any repro part should be on it but for almost anything else I think this wheel would make me happier than a fixed up original for probably less than half the price.

No need to do the work of exchanging them. Just want to make sure they work. Thanks.
Mopar Dave. Not plated and not painted----then what kind of finish. Powder coat?

You don't need to mount it, check continuity between the spade plug and any where on the center and squeeze the switch.

Are they stainless ( like the leather wrapped Tuff wheel by PG classics) ? Does a magnet stick?
stainless steel makes sense and yes a magnet sticks.
PG Classic had a Tuff Wheel, not a Rim Blow...............at least I don't think they did ???

Strange? A magnet won't stick to stainless. . I rechecked my Tuff wheel from PG classics and it is stainless a magnet doesn't stick.
I'm just curious and not in the market for one just trying to help out ID the finish?

the magnet used is a pretty strong one. So it really didn't hit it like against a metal cabinet. It could be a low grade stainless.? too much energy picking apart a part. It has a satin finish.
Our SS dishwasher is magnetic, but not our SS refrigerator.
Generally a 300 series stainless is nonmagnetic while a 400 series is magnetic.

Received a wheel from OER, very nice piece. Switch works perfectly and the center cap snaps on as original.
Just installed mine. Fit perfectly and horn works now. Nice piece.
I have had my Rimblow on for 2 weeks now. I really like it, but just noted a negative issue. Today I was at a car show and it was 89 degrees. When I drove home, I noticed the silver tape trim around the circumference of the wheel was lifting up all around. The lifting up look like tiny sharp peaks. I was able to press some of them down, but some lifted back up. Anyone else notice this? Does anyone know of better tape to use? I don't mind re-taping this area. I do like the wheel, but that tape is not too good. Thanks
Is it just the protective plastic coming off that should have been removed or is it the actual chrome ?
If you need replacement tape, it's available as 1/8" chrome pinstripe from most bodyshops and even the odd Autozone
This is pic of mine. Whats involved to swap it out ?

Your wheel has three Philips screws on the back side, undo those, remove the horn pad pull off the horn cap,and you'll find three small 7/16 nuts, remove them and disconnect the wire and you're done. New wheel goes on the same way :alan2cents:

For some crazy reason I had thought there was more involved. Thanks.
Yes: E-bodies are easier than other cars. No steering wheel puller needed.

Anlauto, thanks for pointing that out. It sure was a the protective plastic. All is good now.
Ah: That's good news. I should order one of these wheels I think. Sometimes they only make 1 run.
Dave at Roseville may have some, otherwise Classic Industries says "Arriving soon."
not sure on the longevity of this wheel. but I do have 4 of them in stock.
